Mould
A customer brought in 3 framed photographs which have been stored in the garage and have so much mould on them they could be viewed as science experiments. My advice was to replace the frames but he wants to re-use them. The wood seems to be full of mould and I was wondering whether it would help to...

Re: Dried Roses
Hello, Thank you one and all for your input. I have decided not to proceed with framing the roses as they are very fragile and have been dried by hanging above a radiator. I am concerned that unless that sort of environment is duplicated (and this won't happen in a picture frame) then the plant mate...

Dried Roses
A customer has asked me to frame 8 dried roses. They were hung above the radiator until dry and are extremely brittle. Have quoted for a box frame, AR glass, foamcore back and I will silicone the glass in place but unsure how to seal the back of the frame. I am more concerned about how to attach the...

Re: The creepiest new app
I think if you have something to say then say it.
Some need to hear it and others would like to hear it.
Why wait till you're not around to see their surprise or receive the huggs?

I made a cross section of a picture frame and framed it in a box frame with a list of all the layers.
Will post a pic tomorrow.
Of the two pics posted I prefer the coloured version.

Heather

Re: Paint Finish
Once you have a smooth surface to work on you could consider using Plasti-Kote paint available from B&Q It is self levelling paint. All you need to do is put on a thick coat of paint as smoothly as possible and leave it to dry on a level surface and the paint will sort itself out. The gloss give...

Re: Acrylic blocks / panels
I have found that with a lot of effort a reject print can be pulled off of an acryllic block and the block reused. Care should be taken as the blocks scratch easily but have a go especially if it is a learning curve then the odd scratch or two won't make that much difference if it saves wasting bloc...

Re: Receiving moulding with marks... what is acceptable?
I have only had to ask for 2 credits for damaged moulding this year. Love all the cardboard and bubble wrap my materials arrive in. Saves me having to buy the stuff for packaging up completed frames for customers. Re-cycle .......... it's good for profit. Have a wonderful Christmas and may 2012 exce...

Re: best way to pricing stock?
Look at FramR pricing software.
At a licence fee of £298.00 per year which equates to £24.83 per month.
It probably costs less per month than could potentially be lost in mis-pricing a job.
Think about it.

posters for bathrooms
I have been given two posters mounted onto 5mm foamboard for framing. They are apparently to be hung in the bathroom. Is there anyway to seal the edges of the foamboard to stop moisture getting into the foam - or will it not absorb moisture? I was thinking to laminate the back of the board as well a...

USA flag (folded)
I have been asked to frame a triangle folded USA flag.
Using a box frame but how do I fix the flag in place?
Customer wants the citation framed seperately.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
