Hi all,
Have any of you ever dismantled and moved an Excalibur 5000?
I'd very much welcome any advice you could give me, because I can't locate my manual for the machine in the workshop (it's like Armaggedon the Movie in there at the moment... ).

Re: URGENT - Framing Equipment for Sale
Hi all, I'm afraid that I'm going to have to take the above list of equipment off the market because my leasing company are not exactly being flexible on what would be the remaining balance on the lease;the equity I already have in the equipment would be lost, and therefore it makes more financial s...

Re: URGENT - Framing Equipment for Sale
Thanks for the reference, Mike!
As Mike says, it is very easy to maintain. It comes with a little gizmo for clearing the very rare occasions when a wedge jams. The only repair that I've needed to make on the machine was to replace the cable, and it's an easy-peasy job to do.

Details for the Cassese CS-88 Underpinner from the Lion website: http://www.lionpic.co.uk/product/CASSESE-CS-88-FOOT-OPERATED-UNDERPINNER,7793.aspx Given that I'm only a "small town framer", the machine is pretty much "as new" conditionwise. Includes heads for soft and hard woods...

Re: A very Small Shop.....
Welcome to the Forum AFMW. Great post !!! I wish that I had been privy to such information when I started out (high street retail premises with workshop at the back). Although Mark's comments also have great validity, Daisy, I would recommend that you tot up costs per AFMW. I was stunned at t...

URGENT: Equipment for Sale
Hi all, I've just listed a selection of professional framing equipment that I am selling in the Sales/Wants section. The reason for selling is that I am moving back to the UK for some badly needed rest and recouperation. All equipment is only 4½ years old, and in perfect working order. Please excuse...

URGENT - Framing Equipment for Sale
Hi all, As you may know, I am imminently winding up my business in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick, and will not be keeping my equipment. It's currently on lease, but with the leasing company's blessing, they have asked me to advertise here for buyers. I need to get guide prices from them (due in the n...

Re: muti apertures
Major tip for Ultimat Gold when cutting multiaperture mounts. Say for the sake of arguement that you are creating a long, narrow style mount for three photos, all identical sizes and orientation, e.g:- * aperture sizes need to be 80mm long by 140 wide. * external borders need to be 45mm on all sides...

Re: wood mouldings
Hi Mick, I'm looking to keep hold of my equipment, but I am quite happy for anyone who's interested to come down and cherrypick mouldings and mountboard from what I have in stock. Anyone that's interested in purchasing the materials I'm not keeping (primarily Glenwood range of mouldings, some Arqadi...

Re: Marks on mountboard
Finally some minor scuffs can be removed by carefully dampening and drying the surface of the board, but beware as this can sometimes change the surface appearance of the board, particularly on darker coloured boards. An addendum to Mark's tip is to use a lightly dampened soft smooth cloth, dampen ...

Re: Glass cleaning
I have an injured rotator cuff, and was finding it very hard going cleaning glass after receiving the injury. On Dermot's advice, I switched to Lion's "own-brand" aerosol cleaner (I think it's made by Ebor). I find it much, much easier physically to clean the glass. Also, it makes the proc...

Re: wood mouldings
Hi Brian, Yep. I can probably give you some of the best prices going at the moment! I'm in Newcastle West, and for health reasons I need to close my business. I've got a fair bit of moulding and a wide range of mountboard that I'm looking to sell fairly imminently. Please PM me your number (and if y...
