Gluing Leather to Wood
I've been asked to make a leather frame for a client. Can anyone recommend an adhesive that will attach the leather to wood?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Extending a canvas prior to stretching
Thank you all very much for your suggestions.
Sometimes things do seem more trouble than they are worth but I have had a lot of work from this customer so I'm happy to find a solution in return.
Happy framing everyone!!

Re: Extending a canvas prior to stretching
Thanks Mark.
Which adhesive would you use for this and what thickness MDF? It is quite large, around 1 m x 1.5 m.

Re: Extending a canvas prior to stretching
Thanks for your reply Mark.
This was my original suggestion to the customer, but they do not see the canvas as being worth the work and cost. I am therefore looking at cheaper options! It had previously been glued to chipboard.

Extending a canvas prior to stretching
To save a signature on a canvas I need to extend one side prior to stretching. The canvas is good quality and I'm planning to stitch a strip of similar fabric on using my sewing machine. Any join won't be seen as it will then be framed using a normal moulding as opposed to a tray frame. Does anyone ...

Re: Keeping a print flat when framing to edge with spacers
Hi Prospero
My spacers are 5mm wide (20mm deep) This is the widest they can be to fit inside the rebate. I understand your advice but I'm confused as to how I can fit all this in to such a small measurement.

Keeping a print flat when framing to edge with spacers
Hello
I am framing some prints, to edge, with 20 mm spacers, although the print was flat when it went into the frame after 24 hrs it now looks slightly rippled. Does anyone have any hints about how to stop this happening?
Thanks
Lesley
