Re: Newbie questions
I clamp around 90% of my frames. With a yellow stanley band clamp, a tenner on Amazon. Under enough pressure a good quality PVA glue is much stronger than a few wedges, so the clamp will ensure a good bond. On a float frame when underpinning, I'd clamp the top of the moulding as this is the face tha...

Re: Newbie questions
I'm not sure that canvas offsets are what you need for a tray frame. How deep is your tray frame?
Usually the canvas sits in the tray frame below the top of the frame and is fixed with screws through the bottom of the frame.
Can you post an image of the moulding profile just to clarify?

Re: Waving under mount
Exactly what I was thinking, pinch of salt! My recent experience of this was a customer who came back a week after collection. They'd hung it on the wall and promptly gone on holiday for a week having turned their central heating off. After two days back in my studio the paper settled down again. I ...

Re: Narrow face width on L shaped moulding?
In my experience, if your canvas is 18mm and your available space is 18mm like in the L1471 with the step, your canvas is going to be a bit proud with the canvas folds underneath, which is never a good look. The difficulty with that moulding is that the canvas needs to be perfectly square. I've neve...

Re: Fixings for easily changing prints
In the ready made frame market it's just flexi tabs to close and reopen. I never understand how this works, do you hinge the first piece and let them figure out the switching out next time?? Or do you just supply a bespoke size ready made and leave them to add the "artwork"?

Re: Newbie questions
Hi, I can see my message may have been misleading. This is my first week framing, practicing on the tools, putting the hours in. Only when I'm comfortable will I be taking customer work. Maybe 4-6 weeks from now. First, practice, make mistakes, learn! My advice is take in whatever work is offered t...

Re: Newbie questions
Hi Michael, Glass - the main difference will by that from a framing supplier you will be buying sheets of glass at wholesale prices and cut to size at wholesale minus the cutting time that you would normally be charging. A glazier will sell it to you at retail. If making a living is important to you...

I have had some success in the hotpress, putting the work between two sheets of mountboard with only normal 92 heat for 10 mins then pressure for 5 mins.

Re: Underpiner felt profiles
Some profiles will sit on top of each other in reverse, if bare wood and no details to damage. You can place some offcuts over the top before joining. I'm not an expert at this but I've heard it's done.

Re: FRAMR glass pricing
I would take the convenience of FrameR over some of the other softwares available any day. It is entirely up to you how much markup and wastage you charge for materials. Take the oft quoted adage that if your acceptance rate is over 80% then you're not charging enough. Charge what the market can bea...

Re: Price check multiple order
Hi Megan, 525x695 I'd be around £265 840x650 I'd be around £350 I can't help on the multiples as it's not part of my business model atm (and I'm not getting asked for it.) One word of caution, from when I did do bulk jobs for artists, be very careful of how much time you spend head scratching, calcu...

Hi Andy Welcome to the forum. I'm happy to offer some critique, but as with all critique, it's only my opinion. I misread Frameation as Framenation and when I went to your website I did the same, assuming it was a typo. Your website doesn't appear to be optimised for mobiles currently. It feels quit...

I think a few people mentioned Centrado as a good place to send them. You can book it through their website.
