Re: Scanner advice
Thanks I did a trial yesterday with my Nikon Dslr & it worked pretty well, did slightly lose some of the finer detail though & matching the colours was a bit of a pain but iat least i know it works up to a point. Painting are acrylic on canvas but don't have much relief as the paint is kept ...

Scanner advice
Hi all, just after a bit of advice on scanning v photographing for my art prints. My current artworks are just over A3 - I'm wondering do the a3 scanners have the capability to stitch the scans together or my 300 x 400 are going to be missing an edge! I also have 400 x 500 - is the only practical op...

Ugly doesnt cover it!
This has to be the worst thing I've ever seen, hotels usually take a bit of care adding something local or at least decent to compliment the rooms,
not here - a canvas wrap masquerading as a frame - truly awful

Re: Direct applied tape?
sorry mixing things up, I'm working on 370 gms inkjet canvas but will probably reduce the thickness or even the material for a print run, just want a direct tape to fix the print to card, thanks appreciate my methods aren't text book but I have to keep costs in the different elements really low or t...

Re: hardboard backing for canvas
I'm using the spray adhesive as its far less messy and the edges are held with the pva and then tape as a failsafe to stop it ever moving, I was using pva & mounting to 6 mdf for open frames but switched to ACM - now I'm using a mount the prints are only 330 x 400 so its far quicker and less mes...

hardboard backing for canvas
Hi again, another quickie, after going around the houses with my artwork I find myself back with a smaller size - I'm using 400 x 500 hardboard, 370mm inkjet canvas, 3m fabric spray mounting to the hardboard - pva sealing the edges of the print, then taping up the edges & sealing again - this gi...

Acrylic thickness/cleaning advice
Hi all, I'm looking to frame my artwork potentially for courier delivery, I already know the advice is not to send glass so what sort of thickness clear acrylic could I get away with, obviously the cheaper the better - I have a local supplier that's decent of price based on buying a full sheet cut t...

Re: Mounting canvas to a Board
Thanks - the acm works ok & I have a decent cheap supplier, not sure how the plywood will compare on cost or what level of bowing I will get. If its going to be messy either way then probably not worth going off at another tangent as I need to concentrate on the actual art! What would be a rough...

Re: Cheapest option to mount 360gms inkjet canvas to mdf/acm
Thanks, the mdf warps too much and I need the acm as the frames I have only have a shallow recess and no option to cradle panels. Not sure this will be any less messy than the process im already using? Are you advising that using the vac bag it will provide a stronger bond than my current roller eff...

Cheapest option to mount 360gms inkjet canvas to mdf/acm
Hi again, I'm an artist & I've posted similar before but things have progressed so I'm looking at help and advice for other options. I'm currently bonding 360gms inkjet canvas to acm panels using ph free PVA (yes it does bond well & flat if the rear is roughed up) I was using mdf but that wa...

Positionable Mounting Adhesive advice
Hi all, as ive mentioned in the past I'm pva mounting 370gms inkjet canvas to acm panels, this is fine for my original pieces as its getting multiple layers of paint etc.. on top so doesnt need to be too clean to start off. I'm hoping to do a print run of hand embellished work however the pva will b...
