Re: Attaching shoes
I would use one of those high strength adhesives that you buy from Leylands, Wicks etc. They will certainly hold the shoes in place and should (may?) peel off the rubber sole if ever required, and let it dry for a good 24hrs. (I would like to know if anyone has had a shoe re-framing job! ) It would ...

Re: What Would You Suggest!?
Hi prospero Thanks for your reply, The Print has a white border round the edge of about 25mm and I planned on showing about 10mm of the white border, then the 45mm white mount. So only 15mm will be under the mount card all round. The customer told me that the frame will be moved around a bit so I su...

What Would You Suggest!?
I've just had a customer that dropped in a large ( 1.25m x .65m ) colourful print that he wants framed. He paid £ 55.00 for the print. We agreed that a small white mount 45mm wide wit6h a simple white frame under 3mm glass would look good, and I suggested that I would "T" Hinge the print t...

Hi Jonny9,
Like nigel nobody, I have tried a few times to straighten a warped canvas but have always ended up re-stretching.

Floating Heavy Oil In Box Frame
I wonder if anyone had any thoughts on the following: I have a customer who has given me an old oil painting, (of value), which is painted on a piece of hardboard and is approx. 2ft x 31/2ft in size. He would like it framed in a box of about 25mm deep and floating somewhere between the front glass a...

Re: Baby shoes
I've framed quite a few "First Shoes" using a Rose and Hollis A45 moulding, which comes in obeche, and has a rebate of 60mm. If stained using Chestnut brown mahogny spirit stain and then waxed with a dark brown beeswax it really comes up well. The moulding also comes in oak (although not s...

Re: Flag Frame
I've done a quick test and a 1.4mm mount board with a 3mm foam board behind and using 5mm tags (coloured) seems to be my best option here.
Thanks everyone for their valuble comments

Re: Flag Frame
Thanks markw, I like the idea of colouring the tags, I suppose felt pen will do the trick. My only reservation on using the tag gun is that, on my gun, there is a 5mm gap between the front and back of the tag, so I would lose some tension. Maybe I could put a thin layer of foam board behind. I'll le...

Thanks Bill,
I have a tag gun so will consider using instead of stitching. Any advice welcome. Not sure if we get cupcakes over here but they sound delicious!

Flag Frame
I am new to the Framers Forum so I'll be interested on your thoughts on the following: I have a 4ft x 3ft Union Jack to frame. I was going to present it in a frame using 5mm fillets to create a gap between the flag and the glass and attach to the mount board using either fuse wire or cotton stitch. ...
