Thanks for nothing Grahame.

I opened the attachment in a crowded cafe.

You should have seen the looks I got as I hurriedly finished my latte and skulked through the door.

Can't we just forget the eighties ever happened. Carp music, carp fashion, Margaret Thatcher etc....

Hi all,

I've only just now clicked through on all the links in this thread, and there's something I feel so strongly about that I can't not comment on it.

Firstly, let me say that I fully acknowledge that, in choosing to participate in discussions here, I have agreed to interact with people from all walks of life, and who probably have a diverse range of interests beyond the typical scope of this particular forum. Indeed, I feel extremely fortunate to be welcomed into the midst of such a great group of people!

However...

When I choose to participate in a group where the common interest is framing, I don't expect to be presented with links to what is euphemistically referred to these days as "adult content." If I wanted to seek such content, I would go elsewhere on the web.

Being perfectly truthful, I personally have a marked antipathy toward the aforementioned content, and when I clicked on an earlier link in this thread to a site containing such material, I found it completely inappropriate in the context of this forum, and very offensive on a personal level.

Forum members in general, please be assured that my comments here are not intended in any way to be judgmental of the preferences of individuals. I'm a first-do-no-harm-then-live-and-let-live type of person, and I have no rights to dictate how anyone other than myself should behave: that's the choice of the individual. However, I prefer to contribute in groups where common sense and sensitivity to the feelings of all members are the order of the day.

Odems, I understand that you are based in the Netherlands, and that there are cultural differences between countries. I have no wish to offend you by sharing my feelings on this matter, but I would respectfully request that you consider the feelings of other members of this particular Forum when choosing what to post here.

I fully accept that I may be the only forum member who has an objection to the link, but there is also a possibility that there may be other readers who found it unpleasant that are not as vocal as I am.

Odems, I'm sure that there is a veritable plethora of discussion groups where the type of material in your link may be completely appropriate, and indeed welcome; but I for one would very much appreciate it if you would refrain from posting links to such material here in the future.

Áine,
I agree with your comments!

I'm afraid that I just don't have them time to view the U-Tube links posted here, so I haven't seen what you refer to. IMO Adult content is not appropriate for this forum.

with you 100% on this on Áine,

i've only just noticed the aforementioned link, posted in response to my original post, not had much Internet time of late, and been unable to fully check responses.

I'm of the opinion that such content does not belong on The Framers Forum.

I hadn't clicked any link on this topic until tonight.

I've got my own opinion - another time. Too busy sending that 'Milky Milky' one global.

:D

Surely the simplest is to ask John (Moderator) to delete the Dutch post that has offended so many.

I think that it is appropriate to add that this forum is open to all and that any material included on this forum should also be suitable for accessing by all without risk of offending any.
