I just been trying to make a smiley cat smiley. Got it to animate OK. But can't get the background transparent. Used JASC Animation Shop (Comes with PaintshopPro). Any smiley makers out there know how?

I'm not familiar with Animation Shop, but I think the only format that supports transparencies is .GIF. Can you translate or have you translated it into that format?

I actually used an existing smiley and copied it and drew a grin on a copy and saved as .gif
Animation Shop has a wizard that lets you load frames and builds the animation for you. The copies all have a black background no matter what I tried.

I’m using my wife’s PowerBook so I don’t have a copy of Photoshop or ImageReady to refer to, but in the back of my mind I seem to recall that in order to allow for GIF transparency the color space needs to be “Indexed” rather than be in RGB or CMYK. I may be thinking of something else, but you might want to check that.

Interesting problem. If you don’t get it fixed, you are welcome to send bill@framersloft.com the file as an attachment and I can try to fiddle with it. I’ve got a copy of “Graphic Converter” that can open just about any image format.

Bit rough, Bill!

Thankfully, we feline types are sufficiently secure in ourselves to never feel even the slightest temptation to resort to gratuitous violence! :P :P ;)

Surrrre you are.

But, I can’t say the same for the critters you adopt.

When Teapot was among the household, she would would lie on the sofa and as Molly walked by, bop the poor dog on the snout just for giggles. The dog would looked stunned and puzzled and wonder why she was the target for such gratuitous violence. After each unprovoked attack, Molly would sulk in her bed for a while and ponder the injustice of it all.

It damaged her psyche.

From the vast majority of people on this forum I would believe that (((((Molly))))) meant that I should give my pooch a hug.

However, since I know that you are under the influence of the evil, malicious, sneaky creatures that don’t have a compassionate bone in their skinny little bodies, I am suspicious that (((((Molly))))) means placing the dog in a trash compactor.

I'm going to have to think about this for a bit. :worried:
