From another thread
Melinex, cut off a roll, curved side up, bit of tape on each corner to hold in place - the artwork is UNDER the sheet - just as a template. ATG (3m 415) tape within quarter to one eighth of an inch of the image.Roboframer wrote:
Came across another good use for this backing yesterday too - a tiny 300 year old map - both sides need to be seen.
Whatever method of mounting etc, back with glass/acrylic of your choice -apply backing a-la my photo, but with a hole in it.
Will post a piccy next week - then you can compare it to a piccy of something needing the same treatment in the last issue of TPB.
Then the artwork is placed on top and inside the tape and another sheet of Melinex applied curved side down - so the sheets are doing this ....)(.

Front mount - melinex package fixed with more 415 tape

Identical back mount - fitted to the front mount, but not to the melinex (could be though) with ATG

Artshield acrylic over back mount - sealed in with FP90 - PVA brushed on to back of frame, some ATG too.

'Dustcover with a hole in' Artcare 'Sable' (Black leather effect - reverse bevel)

The front (I can only see part of the photo below - is that just me?)
