New underpinner, suggestions? living on borrowed time with Cassesse

I haven't posted for a while and had to temporarily close the business for a few months, just waking up to realization that I'm living on borrowed time with my Cassesse CS199 : ( Now there's no rescue plan for Cassesse and spare parts will not be manufactured as I understand,I'm just waiting for the hammer to go on the machine and everything grinds to a halt.... I am the eternal pessimist.

Just wondering what other underpinners are used on this Forum and does anyone have a particular favourite, I'm only a one man band so no large volume stuff. I particularly like the ease of use of the Cassesse, just putting a cartridge in and no need to change the head on the machine, eek..

Any thoughts, gratefully received.

Hello,

It's always tricky to navigate in these times of uncertainty. Speaking of reliability and adaptability, have you considered exploring other options that might be more sustainable in the long term? Perhaps you could find alternatives that meet your needs, even as a one-man band. Twitter, for example, offers a dynamic platform where many small businesses find relevant solutions and advice.

Hi Earl and Justine,

Framers Equipment has wedges to fit Cassese plastic cartridges and also metal top-loaders to replace the plastic cartridges when your plastic cartridges become unusable.

We can still provide limited spares and service and repair in-house subject to the availability of spares.

I use for my business an electronic Cassesee 486 and will continue to use it and maintain it until such times that spares become unobtainable.

Workshop machine weekly maintenance and regular servicing will help maintain your workshop production, but prepare to budget for a replacement machine when your machine is beyond economic repair or parts are unavailable.

This platform provides a wealth of information and help from professional framers always happy to help.
