Hi all has anyone got a technique/method for framing a record (12") in the cover with a mount that can be removed/taken in and out to play said record? Cheers D.

If the actual record is to be concealed, maybe don't frame it, just frame the cover. The record can be kept within any old cover.

The record could sit on a spindle which could be made from anything, and then either a shelf or a couple of brackets underneath. Acrylic would be good for both spindle and shelf/brackets. Otherwise mount in same way but just have a removable back as per any ready-made, but a front opeing frame is much less fuss for removal and replacement.

While the mounting can be done; it is not a practical request from the customer. The easiest way would be to digitally make a copy of the label and attach the label to a dummy disc made from another LP of no value. Mount this dummy disc into the frame and safeguard the collector one for actual playing.

If the original disc was to be in the frame package, how will this LP not get damaged via removing and reinstalling? Who will be cleaning the inside contents from flying particles, fingerprints, and smudges each time it's played.

I don't see any difference, bar a glass front, between this and a cabinet where you'd normally keep records. I've got far more valuable (to me anyway) stuff stored in a display cabimet.
