"Most photos are not on traditional paper but on digital printing paper that we can't use starch paste, a paste for conservation framing. Need to make sure that they don't apply tapes onto the prints."

it is those prints that are translucent and used in a lightbox. The base material it is printed on is kinda like cibachrome and it is extremely glossy too.

Yes, definitley Hot Mounting it in a Hot Press is a definite no no. There is really no way of presenting the image flat and nice without mounting. I would go for roller mounting it on an Aluminum DiBond or Forex sheet. Both products are manufactured by Alcan Composites.
