Re: Transferring an image onto mount board
If your printer can print onto mount board yes its possible,
or you could just print onto paper then bond the print to mount board,
you would get a better finish, I have done that a few times,
then put that in the mount cutter and cut the mount.

I would have thought, show a picture of the matt design you want cutting and ask if anyone is willing to cut them and at what price.

Re: Landscape or portrait?
I use the turn and pin method, as i use the underpinner from the back and have the frame on a table in front of the underpinner, much easier and faster than the pin 2 halves, then pin the 2 halves together, I get interrupted pinning all the time and it doesn't cause a problem. Each to their own.

I Do quite a lot of these, I will only do them if they are stuck down using pressure sensitive adhesive in the jet mounter.

Re: PENCIL DRAWING
One thing to watch for is, depending upon how much the paper is crinkled and how big the print is, you may not be able to totally flatten the paper and may end up with a crease or bubble. Its worse on bad crinkled large prints, on a small print you maybe ok.

Re: framing a 100x89 ordanance survey map
Hot Press Double Sided Mount Film (M3174) PMDS41082 1040mm wide, and a 43" wide Jet Mounter to apply the pressure.
The card is a 2mm thick laminated for extra strength, and it has a very smooth flat surface making it ideal for mounting too, the card came from wessex.

Re: framing a 100x89 ordanance survey map

Re: Compressor and computer for CMC
I run the CMC and computer off a UPS nice clean electric, you can even carry on the cut even if the power goes out on those rare occasions, saves the job and more importantly the CMC and computer. For me the price of a good UPS out weights the price of new computer or CMC electronics, by a long shot.

It certainly isn't what Focus used to be, as said above its mainly aimed at the amateur, with company's selling items at a slight discount over the 4 days, its more of a lets see what i can get cheap mentality, the old focus was defiantly much more geared towards the Pro market, that's why I attende...
