Re: Thick conservation mountboard
Or if you want you can get nice 'pinstripe' effects, either in the centre of the cut or at the bottom of the cut, by using coloured boards. Robo, only been able to find black core for this. Which manufacurer should I be looking at? I wandered around a Washington Green gallery in Cardiff last week a...

Re: Cutting Perspex.. peel off film first ?
Slightly off-topic - I framed 2 pieces yesterday with perspex, both with a black mount and had a hell of a game making sure no specks were left under the perspex.
Does anybody have any tricks to share when using perspex?

Thick conservation mountboard
I have 4 limited edition prints to frame and the customer has selected a thick core mount in Daler's Antique White. I normally use Daler boards but I can't find any of their conservation range that is any thicker than 1.4mm. Have I missed something or can anybody recommend an 'Antique White' thick c...

Re: Making Offcuts into Ready Mades
I did a car boot yesterday, used up all the off cuts and knocked up some ready mades, also took along some framed prints I picked up at auction and a small display of come CMC clipart and letterart. Whilst I didn't take a great deal of money I managed to talk an artist into coming round to visit the...

What a great customer!
Phone rang late this morning and the caller asked "Is that the framer?" Once we had established he was calling the right person he said he would be right over. A while later couple walk in with some carrier bags saying they called earlier. Within an hour they have decided how they wanted 1...

Isn't it nice when
Last week I framed an Iron Maiden concert t-shirt, tickets and wristbands for a customer to give to his wife on her birthday. First thing this morning the customer's wife phoned me to say how pleased she is with the framing and couldn't believe that was her concert t-shirt in the frame. She also add...

Just to echo all the above sentiments . I had a great day and would like to thank everybody involved; the organisers, the speakers, the trade representatives and the framers. Happy to put my hand up if any help is needed for a future event.

Re: I'm looking for...
Thank you all for your replies. I suspect the box thing is really a no-goer given the costs of dies etc and the variety of sizes needed. Having said that that, I know they are available having seen some at a photographer's studio recently, unfortunately photographer was not going to tell me the name...

Decent strut backs and white boxes. I'll elaborate: Strutbacks - happy with MDF but need to have an adjustable strut that clips onto one of two metal bars appropriate for landscape or portrait. White boxes - to put completed frame into for customer to carry away using integral carrying handle. Sizes...
