Re: Why do the blades keep separating?
Nice to hear from you, Jo. I spoke to you briefly when I was training with Ian Kenny. I've done the paper test (I'd forgotten about this - it was suggested to me by someone else a while back), and the result looks pretty clean to me. I hadn't made the connection :Slap: sorry! If you haven't moved y...

Re: Why do the blades keep separating?
Pretty much what Justin says. A quick experiment - move the head back the full way, lay a piece of paper across the the cutting area and gently make a cut through the paper. It should be clean and with no bearing up, no drag or anything. If it isn't then as Justin says, most likely the bottom blades...

Re: Methods to this fabric panel please?
A few stitches to support it, hidden around the edges. But if you space the glazing away there is the risk (and depending on how stiff the piece is) that the central section might want to pull forward. So if you use acrylic rather than glass then you could put it up against the acrylic and use that ...

Re: Maintaining Depth at Assembly
Depends on the Museum and the collection I guess. https://archetype.co.uk/our-titles/conservation-mounting-for-prints-and-drawings/?id=435 Went to an exhibition of mounted and unframed works at the British Museum a few years ago, the mounts were in such remarkably good condition that they looked lik...

Served on the Guild board with both Paul and James - so very, very sad. Both lovely people and so knowledgeable. This is a big loss in so many ways.

Incredibly sad if that's the case. It does look like they filed for Administration earlier this month.

Re: Double mounts, my brain vs the GCF
As a GCF Examiner either way won’t be a problem. Whichever version you prefer. As long as the measurements and reveal are accurate and the double mount is well cut, and glued together properly, then it’s totally fine.
I don’t know who told you otherwise but they may have misinterpreted things.

We're with Justin - never used them on ours either and never had a problem.

Re: FramR - unable to subscibe
Another way is to try uninstalling it from your PC. Restart the PC then reload it from Microsoft Store.
We had an issue a few months back - worked perfectly on one PC but not the other. John at the Helpdesk suggested the above fix. Worked perfectly and hopefully it will sort it out for you too.

Facebook and Instagram for us. And that takes up enough of our time so we aren't keen to add any more platforms to it.
We gave up on Twitter when it was still Twitter. Far too toxic.

Re: Waving under mount
Interesting that it has affected both prints in the same way. Are you able to open it up and have a look at the hinging? It could potentially be a problem with that. Especially if all the boards are still completely flat. Having said that, I always take with a very large pinch of salt customer state...

Re: Price check multiple order
Hi Megan This kind of post usually gets a better response if you post the prices up too. Many of us found we were undercharging when we started using pricing software. Particularly if you've gone from a multiplication of material costs only, onto a software that includes labour charges as well as th...

Re: FRAMR glass pricing
We always price based on list price. That way if you do have discounts set up for customers - say trade customers - then you are softening the blow to your bottom line. However, if you do want to include any discount you get from a supplier into the prices you quote customers then it is easy to do t...
