Re: **** in the Attic
Don't you think there should be more to a job than just the money?blokman wrote:Yep... very easy, take the money and do the job...........
Silly question, of course you don't.
I guess we cant all expect to want to see a job done properly. However I find it hard to imagine a customer who wouldn't.

Re: **** in the Attic
Perhaps the customer supplied the plaque along with the fish??? Is it really the job of the framer to question the clients grammatical ability...... Yes absolutely, without question, every time, yep! If the engraver is a twit tell the customer, the twit can then be made to do a proper job and then ...

Re: **** in the Attic
Hello john,
Well it's not really a grammatical error.
It's utterly the wrong word, it might just as well say, "......because they always supercalafradgelisticexpyallydotious track of time......"
Anyway what do I know, the framing looks good.....or does it?

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that would really P*** me right off
LOOSE ????????
Loose instead of lose at the best of times gets me apoplectic, but having to pay for the privilege of displaying it on my wall would drive me right over the edge.

Re: Underpinner not working !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Panic over  I had a wedge jammed in the little block that they slide up and through. Just a quick disassemble, removal of said offending wedge, a good clean and rebuild ......et voila! Thanks for the speedy responses anyhow. As for the pub, well that sounds perfec...

Underpinner not working !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh dear, I'm in the poo! :sweating: I've got a Cassese cs88 Operated the foot pedal and no staples were inserting. Ah! New cartridge needed, took the old one out..oh oh...full up. On closer inspection I still couldn't see what wasn't working, as I fiddled with the foot pedal it gave out a clonk and ...

Re: World Cup Final Ticket
I see I'm in a minority of one  However, thinking about it still further, coupled with the proper ball I think I'd like to see the SA flag colours depicted more. So maybe behind the ball, green? A red strip all round rather than the black, because we've already got the black in the frame? And...

Thinking about it, why can't we just use a downloaded photo of the correct ball?framemaker wrote:Good for you J2M I'm glad you're considering a MK2 version. Unfortunately I know a lot more about football than I do framing so cant really help with the technicalities of MK2.

Re: World Cup Final Ticket
New to framing as you may well know, so a little shy about commenting but here goes anyway... If I was the the customer here, I'd have the right hump frankly :( The hexagonals are usually part of the structure of the ball and should therefor be placed equidistant. These look like random chosen shape...

Re: Education costs
Hello Nigel, Funny you should ask this question, because the thing I learned most from this event is that I don't need to learn everything. I've been frantic about learning every aspect of the framing business for months now in a bid to develop enough confidence in my abilities to offer them as a se...

Re: Lion Event.... the afterglow.
Why mention it then; why dangle the carrot? I don't relate to the "mindset of the Framing industry I have come to expect so far" bit. Can you elaborate? It doesn't take the brains of an archbishop to work out who you are on about, there were only a couple of 'business' type seminars, and ...

Lion Event.... the afterglow.
Well that was very interesting, I learned an awful lot more than I expected and in ways I certainly did not expect. Star attraction for me was Jim Anderson on the "Business of framing". I've only been in the framing business for a couple of months or so and the overriding feedback one gets...

Target Audience?
I was asked today what my target audience was! I was unable to answer and have spent all day trying to figure the answer. I think the problem is that it doesn't mean anything. Sure, I know what it means grammatically, but what does it mean in reality? I mean, why would anybody set up in business as ...
