Hi Campbell, You got it, just enter the number of mats in the text box to the left of the mat type. (For the sake of simplicity, EstLite assumes that all the layers of a multi-part mat are of the same type.) You can do the same for any of the other framing elements where appropriate - yes, once in a...

I gave up on this MDF stuff, Len. I never did find a satisfactory way of joining it. It proved to be deceptively solid and dense. Very often when driving one wedge on top of another there would be so much resistence that the wedge would split. So if there is anybody out there who knows how to get a ...

Hi Ian, Welcome to the forum. We are hoping, with the cooperation of the suppliers, that eventually downloading prices can be achieved automatically within EstLite. However, in the meantime if you have a current price list, just attach it to an email and send it to me. I will then make it available ...

Hi Stephen, While you are talking to these folks, try to determine if their resistance to the forum is because of a perceived link with EstLite. If that is the case, please point out that our logo is at the top of each page by default and it can easily be moved aside to make room for any other spons...

John, I wonder whether the FATG and the trade magazines have failed to respond because they see this as an Estlite marketing medium, rather than as simply a framers' forum? I cannot think of any other reason. If that is all that's bothering them, I would like to point out that the EstLite logo at t...

Hi Stephen, The forum is for everybody with an honest view to air on any topic of common interest. I believe that when someone takes the time and trouble to put forward a point of view it should be respected and given due consideration. For example, John started this thread by telling us that he lik...

Looks like your configuration file, est.ini, has got damaged somehow. Could you attach it to an email and send it to me (est@scenes.biz), so that I can clean it up for you. It will be in the folder C:\Program Files\Est\est.ini In the mean time I will have a look at EstLite to see if I can find the c...

Hi Walrus,

Do you mean additional fields such as Other1, Other2, etc., or would you like to be able to put more text into the Other field as it stands?

Will give this some thought before the next program upgrade.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi John, I'm not sure what links, if any, there are between Picture Business and ABT/FATG. Because I believed that a lively forum would be a great resource for a trade magazine, a press release was sent to both Picture Business and ABT when the forum was first set up. To date, the response from each...

If this doesn't work, repeat the uninstall then delete the folder:- Program Files/Est Then install by running estsetup.exe. There should be no need for you to re-downl...

Re: The legend of Adam the frame

Dermot, do you know if Adam The Frame was a GCF? But seriously... Goran Simic ... it was not only the technology of chisel and wood but rather the art of understanding a picture. A painting was the soul, while the frame was its body: they could not exist without each other. "I've known lots of ...

Hi Lori, Probably the easiest way to match prices is by trial and error. 1. Enter your size, say 16 x 20, in the main screen and note whether the price quoted for glass etc. is above or below the price you are trying to match. 2. In Options/Prices adjust the figures in the desired direction. 3. Go b...

Hi Jay,

It might be easier to find the paper then drymount it to a piece of normal mountboard.

I think this flourescent product is called dayglow I'm not sure if that is a brand name.

A local printer who might help you out with a sheet or two.

Good luck. Please let us know how you get on.

Another (likely) way that the spammers can pick up your email address is to harvest it from the web. Mark, a Google search returns a single result for your address (m@8bg.co.uk) - www.fineart.co.uk/qualifs/gcflist.htm (The Fine Art Trade Guild). A number of years ago, when the FATG first set up thei...
