Tray Frames
Hello
After some guidance please.
I have a customer who has several acrylic paintings on boards and they would like them framed in tray type frames with a gap to give the impression that they are "floating" in the frame.

Re: framing a double sided film poster
Thanks for your reply Mark.
Having discussed further with the customer they have now decided that framing in the conventional way would be acceptable as long as they can remove the backing board to view the reverse side of the poster. Happy days, that's saved me a lot of grief!!

framing a double sided film poster
Hi Guys
I have a customer who requires a 27 x40 inch double sided film poster framed so they can view both sides.
Being quite large I thought maybe using perspex would be more practical and less weighty but would it be advisable to cut 2 mounts and sandwich the poster in between?
Not sure how to ...

Re: Dust!!!
Although it's a bit of a faff sometimes it helps to seal the glass, mount and backing board together with some masking tape, although you have to be careful that when you wrap the masking tape round the "sandwich" it will be hidden under the frame rebate. It takes a bit of time but probably quicker ...

painting plain wood mouldings
Hi forumites. Could someone tell me the best method of painting plain wood mouldings to get a nice finish and avoiding brush strokes. Additionally what type of paint works best, acrylic, emulsion or something else?
Many thanks.

morso engineer?
Hi there. My morso is in need of a good service and probably some replacement parts. Does anyone know of an engineer in the south east who can sort this out?
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

foam biseaux mount (deep bevelled mount)
Hi Guys
can anyone explain to me how to create a foam biseaux mount (French Matt)?
I have the strips of foam bevelled and the coloured tape but not sure how to get the strips the right length to match up with the mount bevel -and how/where to apply the tape.
Many thanks.

Re: Trading from home
I work from home and have done so for 20 years. No planning permission but I could claim what's called in planning terms established user rights as I have been doing it for so long.Generally though your local planning dept shouldn't be that bothered unless you are making lots of noise and annoying ...

if you are not able to sell as a whole package, would be interested in purchasing the oval cutter. Can pick up from you as only a few miles down the road.

mount card imperfection
A customer has presented me with a lovely giclee print to frame all wrapped up with cellophane and ready to frame. The mount looked superb, a double with a deep coloured bevel, outer mount an off white texured. Easy job I thought but having put the item behind glass was horrified to notice what ...

Re: Travelling salesman
I work from home so have to transport my moulding selection mountboard samples etc. I started with pasting tables but now use a suitcase with some display boards made up from ply board, covered with display fabric. Seems to work ok and the suitcase has wheels, which is just as well becaue either I'm ...

how to get a neat finish to the back of a deep rebated frame
When using a moulding with a deep rebate I often find it difficult to get a really neat finish when masking the back with the tape, (I normally use self adhesive gummed tape)particularly in the corners, when you tend to get a few creases. I suppose one solution is to pack out the frame to bring the ...
