Thanks for all the suggestions guys!
Must admit I was thinking of the slits in the mountboard myself, but the ideas for fixing the medals in place are really helpful!
Thanks!

Framing medals
We've been asked if we could frame some medals, something that we've never done before. I've looked for some hardware to help with hanging the medals but so far have found nothing! Has anyone got any advice on how to hang the medals within the frame? Are there any pieces of hardware that can help wi...

Re: Mitre alignment problems
Thanks for all the positive replies; have moved the wedge position in as suggested and also watching the pedal pressure on putting the wedges in which appears to do the trick. Talking of plastic mouldings, we do have real problems with minerva mouldings with the foil coating distorting at the bottom...

Re: Mitre alignment problems
Thanks Alistair The fence on our Inmes underpinner is fixed and we used to get good mitre joins, so don't think it's that. Will try moving the wedge positions away from the outside edge. The fence on the Morso has never been altered as was giving good results, but will check it as things do sometime...

Mitre alignment problems
Hi I know that this has been discussed a lot on here, but we are experiencing alignment problems with our mitres from our ancient Morso. We have re--aligned the blades but still have a small gap at the bottom of the mitres (pics attached) so are thinking that we are looking at the wrong place to cor...

Pricing up a hand coloured frame.
Hi,
Any advise on how to price up hand colouring a moulding? We've need to 'white wash' a bare wood moulding. We've brought in the wax finish varnish to do this, and we're confident enough to do it, just not sure how to price it up!
Any ideas advice received!
Cheers.

Pricing Aperture Cuts
Hi, Has anybody got a tried and tested formula for pricing up the cutting of apertures in mount board? For example, the difference between somebody wanting a 20" x 16" mount board with no aperture cut, compared to a 20" x 16" mount board with a 16" x 12" aperture cut. B...

Re: overcuts on Ultimat Gold
Thanks Prospero, that's done the trick. Didn't realise that the blade depth has such an effect on over/under cuts, but thinking about it obviously it has too Thanks again.

Re: overcuts on Ultimat Gold
OK we'll adjust that then. The instructions say 0.5-1mm penetration and as I said it's at 1mm maximum. Will let you know results. Thanks.

Re: overcuts on Ultimat Gold
No, both the strat cut and the finish cut are at the end of their range for overcutting. Don't think the blade is set too deep, it's max 1mm into the under mat.

overcuts on Ultimat Gold
We are fairly new to framing & mountcutting and have encountered an issue with overcuts on our Ultimat Gold matt cutter. Although in the instructions it states that once the limit stops have been set up they require only weekly checks, we find that they require adjusting every day and now are at...
