Hi,
I have a client who has purchased a waterproof artwork to hang in a bathroom.
They have asked if I could apply a matt yacht varnish to the frame to make that waterproof.
Are there any alarm bells that should be going off in my head with this?
Has anybody ever done this for a client at all ...

Aluminium box frame
Hi,
Looking for some advise please.
I've had a client ask for an aluminium brushed silver box frame, where the glass and backing are seperated by a spacer.
I've made plenty of wooden box style frames, but never an aluminium one.
Not sure how I'd fit a space in an aluminium frame, anybody got any ...

Help with moulding
Hi,
I have a client who wants me to match to the frame pictured.
The frame is dark green and measures 20mm deep x 35mm wide.
I've looked at Lion, Centrado, DJ Simons and Larson Juhl... but no luck.
Has anybody got any ideas where I might find some of this moulding please?
Thanks in advance,
Gary

Aluminium moulding
Hi All,
I'm trying to find a yellow aluminium moulding for a client. Ideally they'd do green in the same range too.
I thought I had found one at Larson Juhl, but it's discontinued.
I've found one at Lion (pictured), but it's only 7mm wide, I'm hoping for between 15-20mm width.

Re: Framing complaint
Thanks Jim and Justin!
Love the story Jim, not sure whether that would 'work' for me this time though!
I think, probably the best way to approach things, having had time to think about it, is to offer to take it apart and if i find that the artwork is at fault (not my artwork) I'll charge for the ...

Looking for a little advice, if anybody has some.
I've just had a client bring back a frame for a commissioned piece of artwork, that I completed in Dec 2020.
The glass size (or acrylic in this instance) is 1400 x 1247mm.
The artwork is float mounted on a black backing board, but not set back ...

Looking for a moulding
Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help.
I have a client who wishes to match a frame to frames that they already have.
It's slightly domed and measures 13mm deep x 30mm wide, in black (pic attached).
I've looked at all my usual suspects and can't find a match, anyone have any idea where it might come ...

Oak tray frame
Hi, wonder if any one can help.
I have a clkent who wants a 110 x 85cm canvas stretched over 38mm deep bars to be framed in an oak (or oak effect) tray frame.
I've looked through Lion, Centrado and Larson Juhl offerings but can't find any Oak tray frames.
Anybody know where I might find one please?

Large aperture mount
Hi,
I have a client who needs a large aperture mount cutting, overall size 200cm x 55cm
This is larger than I can cut, does anyone know where I can get a mount this size cut and delivered to Cambridge.
They don't want it in sections, just as a whole mount.
Thanks in advance.

Glass cutting equipment
Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade our glass cutting equipment here. Been really happy with my old FrameCo Glass Cutter, but spares are now rarer than hens teeth.
So... I've been looking at the Silberschnitt Speed Cutter https://www.wholesaleglasscompany.co.uk/acatalog/Silberschnitt-Speed-Cutter.html ...

Re: Cutting problems
Thanks for those replies guys.
I'll certainly try the mount board behind the frame theory out, see if that helps at all!
And yes, I agree... wastage on obeche mouldings can get both costly and very tiresome!!

Cutting problems
Hi all,
I seem to get a problem when cutting some mouldings.
I'm using a Morso to cut my mouldings, but sometimes during the final cut I get a ripping, which spoils the piece completely. I've attached a pic showing 2 pieces cut from the same length of moulding to show what is happening.
Is this a ...
