Re: Centrado Freebies

I agree. Centrado often get knocked by other people in the trade, but they are very good at what they do. Usually most things are in stock, I can order at the last minute and they are always obliging. Their delivery service is excellent with email updates and their drivers are always polite. They ha...

Re: Art suggestions for gallery

Art is a three letter word, but represents so many different things! The majority of Framer galleries will be selling "Decorative" art and as such, if you want to successfully cater for that market, you're going to have to identify your buying clientele & find out what's the decor that...

Re: Framers ONLY Facebook group - cool video about frame shop in a bus

In response to Steve N. You'll always find know it alls in any group Steve. I love these forums. They are all stimulating, educational and entertaining. Mo is doing a great job there in the USA. He is a doer and I admire him for that. This group has always had exactly the same potential to engage in...

Re: Framers ONLY Facebook group - cool video about frame shop in a bus

Yes Keith. I saw the video. I understand Sainsburys and Tesco are going to add it to their home delivery service along with Amazon Prime. The bus will be routing around our workshops before long! It's a great forum with lots of lovely & talented individuals, but that one ain't for me

Re: Anyone bought stamps to save money after April 30th

That's a fantastic idea Keith. I'm trying to buy stamps for a mailshot at the moment and they're being rationed. It's going to be my last hard copy mailshot because of postage. To mail my customer list will cost me a very minimum price increase of £500 after April. That's totally unsustainable. It's...

Re: The Scream

I remember going to the Munch museum, in the lovely city of Oslo, many years ago. I came out feeling quite depressed! The gallery is next to a park which I would recommend to any FF members should they go out to Oslo. It's called Vigelands Park and it represents the life's work of Gusrav Vigeland. I...

Re: E Midlands FATG Meeting 21st March

Eddie. Jim's right about Guild Branch events being posted on the www.fineart.co.uk website. They're actually on the members pages though which unless you're a member aren't accessible. I'll try and get that altered for future events. We do post on FF of course where many of you here are indeed guild...

Re: North East Branch FATG meeting 20th March

Thanks Keith. Great that you made the effort to come. Ashley's a fantastic craftsman and really inspiring as a demonsrator. Even if you're not going to be a gilder, his enthusism is infectious and I think that everyone who came went away with their business batteries a bit more charged up!

Re: Guild Meeting

Steve. You look great! Cha Cha Cha..... Steve's always gives 200% on his demos and is great value. It does help though when you've got an excellent product range to back you up as he has. Still time to contact me if you want to come to the FATG North East Branch meeting which I posted in "annou...

unusual framing jobs - true

I though we'd framed everything including a sharks jawbone, but I thought I'd share this one which came in the other day...Two incontinence pads. My framer David told me that he had great difficulty attaching them to the board as they absorbed all the glue he was putting on them?! ( )

Re: hows everyone found Octobers sales?

Talking to the reps, framers and galleries around the country, there's a very mixed trading picture. Some are doing ok, some are totally unaffected by the economic circumstances, but the vast majority are having a very tough time and the fact that the moulding wholesalers are finding it tough, means...

Re: Where's our industry going in the next five years?

Really interesting feedback so far. In reply to Robo's point. Joe was not in any way defending D&J's position. The point was actually brought up in discussion and he said that he could take those comments on the chin! I don't need to talk for him, but Joe has a wealth of experience in different ...

Where's our industry going in the next five years?

“There’s no right or wrong answer” [/b] With a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being most change and 1, little change), do you think the picture framing industry has changed in the last five years and how do you think it will change in the next five years? Joe Davis Sales Manager from D&J Simons led a ver...

Re: FATG North East Branch meeting

Hi again. Final opportunity to book a place for Tuesday's meeting of the NE Branch at Leeming Bar. Let me know if you want to come by either leaving me a message on the phone, or by emailing me. We have to let the venue know numbers attending by Monday morning because of the catering. Should be a go...

Re: BBC "Put your money where your mouth is"

Point taken Alistair. I agree with Rolf's summing up and Prospero summed up my feeling about customers who are fed the wrong information and you know what they say about a bit of knowledge being dangerous! :head:
