Re: Mouldings defects/damage
I've complained over and over and put over my views as to the many problems but I'm made to feel like it's only me that's having problems.

Re: Mouldings defects/damage
I've given up banging my head against the wall, and it's getting worse and worse. I've been thinking about a whole new business strategy but looks like going back to making my own mouldings and finishing them myself is the only option, pricey, time-consuming and I don't have space but I can't contin...

Re: Damaging glass Excalibur 5000
I've used one for about a year now, you just have to learn to be more careful putting it down.
You will get there just take it slowly, I started the same.

Re: Circular oak wood frame.
Very nice
I was asked just last week if I can make a round tray frame but for 1m Diameter, I said I could be done but not by me and it would cost big £££.

I've been following a lot of posts about WCAF, mostly on Framers Only. Looks a really great show and I must make the trip over there one year

Re: Reaching Out
It's how I first started framing, mill everything from scratch. Quickly worked out I couldn't charge what I needed to and I couldn't get away with hobby machines working them hard all day, every day. I moved on to bare wood moulding and hand finished but still needed to move on to FF mouldings. Take...

Re: Dried blood on museum board
That's a hard one, normally fresh you can use your saliva to clean it up, dry it and use dry cleaners sponge/rubber to clean any marks left.
Not sure if it works as well when it's dry.

Re: Double sided Football Shirt Frame
Thanks, Peter, for a framing business called Anything Framed I can't get away with saying I can't frame that, I have to work out a way but also that it's quick, easy and reversible without damage. Thankful I don't do too many shirts these days, years ago I was number 1 listing on google for 'Shirt f...

Re: Double sided Football Shirt Frame
Hi Peter, I've done them a few ways, it's pretty easy to see from the photos what I've done. Slots cut into the spacers for the formboard to slip into. I either seal the back glass in place with silicon or just use framers points and tape over. I do use black tape now not the brown tape. I've done w...

Re: Double sided Football Shirt Frame
I do it and offer it at £190.00. It's about the same work as single sided. Floating in the middle, not sandwiched.

Re: Float mounting very large pictures
For the past year I have refused to float mount anything and haven't lost a job yet. I hate the way the paper goes when float mounting, after a few years most things look awful.

Re: Daler mount board alert
I had a call last week and we spoke about the price rise and the moving of Daler but nothing was mentioned about not being supplied. But that does explain why he was trying to get me to change to Colourmount.
That's a bit naughty, I only use Daler.

In the right light/placement it should be invisible but if you have a light source opposite ie a window you will still see the reflection.
