Re: Guitar Framing advice needed!!

I did one a few years ago... If i remember rightly there were a lot of available fixing points on the back of the guitar, so used some large cable ties threaded through from the back and secured at the back to hold it in place... the ones on the back of the guitar were hidden. The one on the neck wa...

Help Identifying Military Badge

Had some WW1 medals in today, along with this. Myself or the customer weren't sure whether we should include it with the medals as we didn't actually know what it came from. It was just found in the same box as the medals. Chap was from the Monmouthshire Regiment if that helps at all!? Any info on t...

Bevel Tapes

Just had a play around with bevel tapes for the first time, they look pretty interesting to be honest!! Got a job in at the moment which I think they would look amazing with, a comic book from the week before I was born!! Just wondering if these can be used or not? It's the colourmount self adhesive...

Re: Coved Box Designer

Put this one up ages ago, but seeing as everyone else is... :D Three different depths and sized coved boxes! I used a combo of glue, tapes and flaps to secure the boxes to the front mount, and also some moulding used 'in the box' as struts underneath the coved boxes to help support each, especially ...

Re: Light Box

Any ideas in suppliers for these then? I've been having a look around but could only find ones that are mega bucks compared to LEDs?

Re: Light Box

Why the use of acrylic rather than glass? The use of lights in a frame seems to have more complications than is needed to be honest?! I know there is a health and safety risk associated and realistically it should be checked by a sparky, however whats the difference between supplying a box frame wit...

Re: Light Box

Deepjoy,

Yup my thoughts exactly about this also!! Luckily though-project has taken a different turn so I don't need to get into it all now!!!

I believe they are after stuff in the future so a little research between now and then wouldn't go a miss to be honest!! Thanks all for the help though!!!

Re: Light Box

Yeah I saw those, but I would prob need a mains supply as these would be on in the shop for most of the day and night! (7 x) 2 aa batteries being changed every other day could start to get expensive!!!

Re: Light Box

I knew I'd seen this somewhere before!!!

Randomly though, does it need to be fitted/checked over my a qualified electrician prior to the customer picking it up? I'm sure I've read that somewhere but can't see it anywhere now! It makes sense I suppose?

Light Box

Hi guys, hope all are well! Apologies - I only seem to post when I'm needing a hand  Had a customer ring me today, needing 7 frames made at about 40cm squared - seems easy enough, however he then proceeds to let me know that he needs them to be individually illuminated (from within) and that h...

Re: Charity Auction requests

Adam, I was thinking this the other day! Woman comes into the shop saying she has a shirt for framing how much will it cost. I did the usual, depends on size, moulding, what you want done... Prices start at 70 quid... With which she replies "well I went to the one in the market and he was too e...

Re: Emergency CS88 Problem

If you look at the top of the red casing, which houses the cable you can unscrew it with Allan key. Should be able to see where it's snapped or what's happened!! Similar thing happened to me couple of days ago!! But the cable had come off of the pulleys

Hope this helps!

Re: Thanks for the Help

Robo, Unfort, my logan can't cut at 5mm depths! So cant cut the foam board at an angle!! Customer already has some cut and wants them to be similar and it appears that they are just really really thick mountboard. So I would imagine it is just a few sheets glued together then cut with a CMC? Also, j...
