Re: Reducing Plastic In A Framing Business.

This product is on my list to try, maybe they'll send a sample. https://www.kitepackaging.co.uk/scp/bubble-wrap/paper-bubble-wrap/ We've been using this product for a little while now. It's a little more expensive than bubble wrap ,maybe not quite as protective on it's own and on some painted frame...

Re: Creative mountcutting and mount decoration

Picture framing seems to be led by fashion/trends and right now most of my customers are choosing things that are plain and simple, and a far cry from what we were supplying even 10 years ago Although we've had a CMC mount cutter for over 20 years the majority of work its ever done is producing squa...

Re: To build an online gallery or not, that is the question

We run an online gallery in conjunction with a 'bricks and mortar' gallery and it sells a reasonably amount of original paintings, although after 5 years the online sales wouldn't be viable on there own. We're based in a holiday area and this is one of the rare time's in this busy world we live in, ...

We bought this to replace a Taurus (which was very old!) and the results are comparable

Re: Quick Question on Client Consultation

The UK high streets are failing (or in some cases have failed) for many reasons. It's really not helped by a fall in discretionary spending, spurred by rising shop prices and weak wage growth and a near 15% devaluation of the pound since Brexit, making imported goods dearer. All of which could be cyc...

Re: Arqadia L/J web ordering.... anyone out there got a clue

It's astonishing to think a company would take down a website that worked perfectly well and replace it with a untested site where it appears they're finding it incredibly difficult to get orders out? Waiting 5 days for an overnight order is hardly 'just in time'! I've just been phoned by Arqadia? L...

Re: Ltd. Company

Most of the tax advantages of being a Limited Company have disappeared since the introduction of the dividend tax. It does offer some protection, but personal guarantee's will still be required for leases's, loans and probably overdrafts A possible advantage going forwards, is that if we hard Brexit...

We've been using a smart stop for about 5 years now and I would highly recommend it for a bespoke framer. Its robust very accurate and easy to use :D

Photo's to stand

I'm looking for a supplier of a product that would allow a frame 20cm x 20cm to stand- (the moulding is 40mm wide)

Of course I know about stand up backs with extended legs, but hopefully someone, somewhere has come up with a better product at a similar price? Any recommendations please

Re: Handiwrap alternative?

Researching more environmentally packaging materials is something that's been on my mind for a while. I'm also concerned how much un recyclable plastic we use. You can now get biodegradable pallet wrap https://www.lindumpackaging.com/biodegradable-pallet-wrap-2/ Hopefully this will be available in t...

It depends where it's leaking and a small amount of soapy water should help you identify this - Just check the jubilee clip isn't at the end of it's thread.

Anyone know where to get this moulding?

Hi Some years ago we used to use a moulding we referred to as 'plank' . Its 70mm wide x 22mm deep, rustic pine finish with a slightly raised grain that's darkened. Plank 2.JPG Does anyone know of a supplier who has this - we need it in reasonably large quantities. Many thanks Plank Frame.JPG

Re: Underpinner problem - help please

I've never used one of these particular underpinners but it looks to be a similar construction to a Euro pinner we had when we started out. I can only think that either the top clamp pressure isn't great enough, the mouldings too hard or there's something wrong with the mechanism that pushes the pin...
