Re: Workshop equipment for sale: retirement

The PM appears to be stuck in the out box and does not appear to have been sent. I am interested in the Morso if it is still for sale. Your ad comments on the state of the knives (well used) but is silent on the state of the machine itself. I am looking for something that is well maintained and in ...

Re: Papercut inbetween two glass

Stcstc.
Do you think there would be enough pressure to hold the papercut if the size was 400 x 540mm?

Re: Papercut inbetween two glass

Thanks for the comments. Those little clip things on that web site look quite good. When you say 'diamond polished acrylic' stcstc - how thick is this and where would I get it from? The gap on those clip things is 8mm which is pretty thick. The hairspray is worth investigating in general.

Papercut inbetween two glass

Hello. A customer has brought in one of those very delicate round-ish (16" diameter), silloette-type, black paper-cut pieces and they want it sandwiched inbetween two pieces of glass and for it to be 'free standing' on a mantle-piece with no border or frame. The question is - do clips exist to ...

The paper is not that heavy - about 'cartridge' paper thickness. Thanks Jim for that link- hadn't seen that way before- might give it a go.

surface mounting print

A customer wanted me to frame their limited addition print (800mm x 600mm)- surface mounted in a box frame with spacers- which I did with hinge tape at intervals all round to hold the print to the backing mount board with a 50mm border to the frame. However they brought it back a week or so later be...

3500micron Arqadia mounts urgent

Hi, anyone out there who can cut me a couple of 3500 micron Ivory Arqadia about 20" x 16" (detailed measurements to follow) and post them to me in Cambridgeshire? I don't want to have to buy 5 sheets.

Re: shipping frames to America

Thanks for your comments. I met this lady today and the pictures she wanted to get back to America weren't of any great value. She convinced me that she was willing to take the risk and that she had done it before and that a few of them might end up with the glass being broken but there was no way s...

shipping frames to America

I wonder if any one has any experience in packing frames (with glass) to go on a plane, in the hold, to America. A customer who works in a local Antique shop phoned me yesterday and said he had a woman who wanted to take about 10 pictures she had just brought from him (old Japanese prints) about 16&...

Re: VAT flat rate scheme

My accountant didn't know - so he phoned the customs and excise help line and they said they thought picture framing was a service - which would be flat rate 12%. I think it's manufacturing which is: 9.5 and you get a 1% discount for the first year of registration- so that's probably the way to go. ...
