Worth looking

Re: Compressor Jun-Air leaking

I had the same issue with my compressor
Mine is a larger ABAC unit but it also only held air for about 10minutes before it started again
It was a small valve that went into the tank that had perished
Only cost about £30 and it's good as new.

If you have a small pipe from the main unit into the ...

National gallery polyptych frame

This will interest a few people on here but hats off to Peter Schade and his team at the National gallery
The piece is on the frame blog by Lynn Roberts and is a bit long winded but the second half of the article shows the team replicating the frame
I thought it was we quite impressive
I haven't ...

Re: Glazing of old oil panting

Hi Sarah
Definitely use a small paper wrap fillet.
Any moisture caused by contact of glass to oil painting may cause something called blooming when the varnish looks milky in spots.
This can happen with fresh or old varnish
More often with older varnish when there's some cracking.

Looks like both fences just need realignment
I've got this model and when it's set up I find it great

You'll have to turn the silver turns
When you start , you'll see which way they're heading
When your corner sample sits in the centre you're good to go

Re: Looking for Frame Supplier For This..

Hi Dermot
The gesso is a synthetic mix that most manufacturers use
It's not great to gold on with water gilding but is fine for paints etc

I'm on the verge of offering a gesso service amongst other things

Re: Looking for Frame Supplier For This..

The moulding is from frinton formerly compo moulding and will be on their website
I would guess that a simple satin car spray would do it but do three light coats to stop any runs
Leave quite a few hours between coats.
Code is either F1 or F2 depending on the width you want

I've got an issue with a Wizard 9000
It has started cutting out mid cut on the final outer edge cut
Pressure seems fine and I have tried increasing it slightly
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
