Re: Morso Blade sharpening (again)

So I was doing the video to show the problem of the adjuster kicking back after the cut & I think I found the problem. When I was trying to fit the hollow ground blades I just couldn't get them to line up so I took them off again & ran my fingers over the rear face that fits against the Mors...

Re: Morso Blade sharpening (again)

I’ll have to fit the blades and do a little video to show the problem.

Re: Morso Blade sharpening (again)

I agree that hollow ground should be by its very nature be a better cut but I just cannot get the blades to cut straight. Yes I've adjusted the bottom knifes & spent a long time making sure the blades are seated & lined up correctly. It's probably something I'm missing as the machine was sec...

Re: Morso Blade sharpening (again)

Thanks for the info, I’ll give it a good read. As for taking too much per cut it doesn’t make any difference if it’s a thick or thin cut it’s almost like the cutting edge is so thin it deforming as it cuts and the harder the material the more it deforms. Should probably have mentioned I'm in the UK.

Re: Wiping dust from photographs

I haven't read through all the replies but being a photographer as well as a printer & framer I use a good quality camera lens cleaning brush by Giottos like the one here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Giottos-KIT-1001-CL1001/dp/B000KZALSG Don't worry about the blower & other stuff with it unless...

Morso Blade sharpening (again)

I know this has probably been done to death but things change in who sharpens in what way & if they are any good or not, Basically I used to have my blades sharpened by Wessex Pictures, it was easy, they delivered & I gave them the dull blades & they dropped them back sharpened the next ...

Re: Logo on the car, FINALLY !!!

Just realised that this was an old thread but Steve very nearly every car has sign's/advertising on it from the make & model to the sticker in the rear window of the garage that supplied it, the name of the garage on the number plates & various other bits. Our old car which was sign written ...

Re: Logo on the car, FINALLY !!!

Lovely job, we did something similar to our IQ but a word of caution if your car has the pearlescent white paint then be very careful if you remove the logo as there is a problem with the top layers of paint bonding to the base layers. You might have noticed how large stone chips are on the bonnet.

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

Well I've had discussions with both Arqadia & Lion via email & phone & this is what I've been told. Arqadia: I emailed Jonathan Burrage the MD directly with my/our concerns over product quality & damage caused by couriers & I had a very prompt reply saying that they had already p...

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

I have emailed Lion & Arqadia MD directly & have had a very nice, prompt reply from Aradia but nothing from Lion yet.
Need to sit down long enough to reply to Arqadia but will do soon.

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

I still haven't got round to finishing the email to Lion & Arqadia yet as I need to be in he right headspace but will certainly mention the problem with the straps. It definitely seems to be that too many framers think it's only happening to them, thats the way the industry is & nothing can ...

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

I had a similar situation with canvas bars and would have to go through several hundred bars per delivery weeding out the damaged and defective ones then get credit notes for them. Now I hardly get any so things can change if you can only be bothered to tell the suppliers who in turn tell the manufa...

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

Feeling much better thanks. If I come across damage then I will open another wrap so that I can do the job & if the problem persists then I will contact them but for a single length or bits that have to be chopped out of several lengths I gave up reporting because it was just so time consuming b...

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

I started to put together an email yesterday to Lion & Arquadia but just as I started another complaint came in from a client about silver paint that was missing from the sight edge. The first complaint I had is what started this post & to get a second within days is not good. One lesson I s...

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

I didn't name the companies because I wasn't sure if it was just me, stupid I know but thats the feeling I had. It is true that I have less problems with deliveries & quality from Arqadia than from Lion but I also think that this is in part to the types of mouldings I get from each supplier. I d...

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

I had the same feeling. Like I said earlier one of the sales team told me that they don’t get complaints.
I think to get the complaints through to the right people we need to complain directly to the directors by finding their email address & see if they reply or if they pass it down.
