Re: CMC outsourcing

Hi Megan

We would be happy to quote for you. I spotted your other post but I’m not in your locality. We have helped a few forum members with multi-aperture mounts and could arrange courier service for you. Drop us a PM with your requirements.
Cheers

Re: Ways to frame a sports shirt?

If you make sure the foam insert is a very good fit you don’t really need many attachments. I use a couple of stainless steel dressmakers pins either side of the collar into the side of the foamcore, and also either side at the bottom to hold in place. They are pretty much invisible.

Re: Picture Hanging Service / Art Installers

Thanks. Looking for someone experienced in hanging fine art to advise on collating, collections, placements and layouts more than just banging a nail in the wall where they are told to.

Picture Hanging Service / Art Installers

We get asked very often about a picture hanging service. It's not something I have any interest in providing but there must be someone reliable and recommendable offering this service. Can anyone point me in the direction of service offerers in the South (South West) that might be able to help. Elde...

Re: Wanted : VALIANI MAT PRO ULTRA

Mine is going part-ex for a Nexus edge in the next few weeks with TGS Repairs. Not sure if they have a taker for it yet. Ask Jamie Griffiths on 07817848324. He’ll know the whereabouts and availability of most Valiani’s in the UK.

Re: Do you photograph your finished frames? If so, do you publish them?

I only take pictures of the ones that are a bit special, out of the ordinary or I’m particularly proud of. And as you rightly pointed out photographing anything with regular glass looks underwhelming, however artglass usually photographs better. If I know in advance that I’m going to use a piece on ...

Re: working with thin mouldings

I agree. Using a rigid back like MDF and stapling through this would be a simple way to increase support. An 8mm moulding base sounds too slim for a D-ring for risk of splitting. I’d be avoiding any fixing on a frame that slim and rivet to the backboard instead. The ideal solution as you’ve mooted w...

Re: Which underpinner?

Prudent to add to this post now that Cassese have folded this summer and been unable to find a buyer for their production machines and stocks. Spare parts including hammers, wedge blocks and stapling cylinders are no longer available (info from TGS). Sadly a Cassese might no longer be the wisest lon...

Re: Wiping dust from photographs

I don’t have an air compressor. Yes, I don’t think they will be satisfied and are looking for things but even so I don’t want to get a bad reputation. I am just at a loss how to stop it happening again. They were incredibly rude but I kept it together-just. :| You can get a farty can aerosol from L...

Re: Wiping dust from photographs

Jeez. That customer sounds like a total nightmare. Sorry for you. Some customers, thankfully quite rare, will come to collect with the quest to find something wrong with what you’ve produced. It’s practically impossible to please this type of person. If it’s perfect they’ll be upset they couldn’t fi...

I've spotted another of these available at the moment - might need a little TLC but still a bargain at £100. Measuring scales available from Wessex. Auction ends tonight.

Worth a chat with these guys for volume. Their website is imperial but a good price and they deal in up to 20x16” delivered and very helpful.

Re: Compressors for multiple machines

Way quieter than my old ‘mouthy’ piston compressor! It’s in a side room to the workshop, if the door is open when it goes off the door gets closed more often than not so I guess that suggests it’s still pretty noisy! A great suggestion by Jerome, might look into that.

Tundra goes after the tank.
