Re: Death of a compressor.

I have never emptied it. Empty it of what? The trouble is, I haven't got the original instructions for it, as I brought it second hand. So I haven't a clue how to service it.

Death of a compressor.

My old Aztek compressor has just given up the ghost. The pressure doesn't seem to go high enough to keep my air stapler going for very long. I can't complain really as Iv'e had it for 20 years from second hand. Any suggestions on a new model, I only ever use it for stapling my canvas prints on to a ...

What they became... http://petrbnsfineart.com/images/driftwoodframe004.jpg After joining the planks I added a deep hockeystick. The liner is a 2" bevel painted flat off white. I little bit of refinement to the distressing after joining - coat of shellac - coat of light grey ripple paint. Follo...

Re: Camera wanted for photographing paintings

For what it's worth, I am a full time photographer and buy tones of equipment every year. I would recommend giving these a look, they have the best prices by a mile, and the service is exelaint. Several of my professional buddy's use them, every one of them rates them highly. http://www.hdewcameras....

My first thought was "Sod that for a lark".

Then I thought about it a bit and came to the conclusion, "Sod that for a lark."
A hell of a lot of work, might be worth trying it on a small scale, just for curiosity.

Re: The driftwood look.

I've found the 'sugi ban' process allows gives you the base to then add a paint finish that will get close to the Driftwood look. I Just goggled sugi ban, and found this you tub link. Some one ells on this thread mentioned trying this. Thank you. https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=2253&bih=131...

Re: The driftwood look.

I'm sorry if the west country thing is a problem, it was not intentional. I was speaking specifically about Cornwall (not the rest of the west country) and it is surprising how many Cornish galleries and artists choose not the use normal factory produced mouldings and finishing techniques as a matt...

Re: The driftwood look.

I'm not talking about framing art/photographs. I'm talking about arty/ creative mirrors. With the right equipment, and a bit of experience I should be able to make them in 60 - 90 minuets. I will sell them for £225.00 to the gin and tonic yacht types, so they can hang them in their second homes and ...

Re: The driftwood look.

Thanks for the link to Lion. I do use ready made moulding's for picture frames. The hand made frames are for mirrors, I'm going to rout and engrave into the wood, then fill with colour or doweling. It's a bit difficult to explain really, when I finish one I will try and post a picture on here.

Re: Hi From Newcastle

Hi Ken. I have a four year old 7890. It prints beautifully. The problem is when it goes wrong. They charge £90.00 per hour + £90.00 per hour for the travel time. As they have to travel from the South east of England to Cornwall them back again, it coast a fortune. Just wondered if you know an agent ...
