Re: HGP220 Hot Press Drytac Vacuum Laminating Mounting Press

Actually the model is a HGP200 and comes with the separate timer. The HGP220 model I think has the timer built in. I couldn’t edit the post once submitted

Gummed paper lifting from backing board

I've tried to find my problem in the database and haven't found it so here goes - if this a repeat please point me in the right direction. I use a Packer 3S gummed paper dispenser and am having trouble with making the paper stick uniformly on the back of the frame. It rarely occurs on the wood but o...

Using acrylic for the first time

I have ordered and received from Wessex a large sheet of acrylic for use on a large frame (975 x 1120mm). I am about to assemble the frame, having made the other elements. The acrylic comes with protective paper sheets each side and before I leap in and remove them I thought I'd check on the assembl...

Thanks guys I'll take that as a"no" then. BTW what is the science behind the recommendations - apart from it doesn't work?

Can you use vacuum press for acrylic blocks?

I've had a look at the excellent advice from Steve Goodall and others, but I'd like to know if photos can be glued to acrylic blocks using a vacuum press but without using the heat? If the roller-style laminators only apply pressure then wouldn't the pressure in the vacuum press be enough? Like many...

Free to a good home: half of Lion Ultimo 1

I've just changed from storing my mountboard on an Ultimo 1 . This came as a pair of 2 wheeled trollies bolted together. Surprisingly I've found a use for one but the other is now surplus to requirements! It would be useful to bolt this to another Ultimo 1 and make it a six-wheeler. I can drop it of...

Laser 1200 for sale - only light use

I'm selling my Laser1200 which I bought new in 1990. The only reason I am selling is because the detachable arm of the Ultimat Gold gives me better worktop space in my studio. I now use the system 4000 for most square cutting. Can deliver between East Anglia and Lincolnshire. Any offers considered, ...

Wanted: Epson 3880

Hi, I'd like to buy an Epson 3880 (A2)printer. I intend to use permajet ink and paper with it so I will not be needing any significant amount of Epson ink, I have a very little-used Epson 3000 (A3+) which I will happily exchange as a part of the deal if you would like that. Thanks for looking

Re: Keencut - Poor Customer Service

Maybe I was a little hasty and hadn't considered varying qualities of steel. In fairness to Keencut, since having bought a new Laser in 1990 I have had good service. I retire from 28 years in HM Forces in 2 months and will have to get used to the harsh realities of the commercial world.

Keencut - Poor Customer Service

Now don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of Keencut products. I have a System 4000, a Laser mountcutter (soon for sale), a Proteus bench and a Rondo . I have just bought Jonathan's Ultimat Gold for which I needed a couple of spare parts costing £60. They arrived (without screws) and I unfortunately ha...

Re: Keencut ultimat gold for sale

Thanks for your quick reply Jonathan - it's a deal then! I'll get the spare parts sent from Keencut. I am currently in the RAF and commute from Lincoln to Hadleigh in Suffolk, so I shall make a detour continuing down the A1 on Friday pm. I reckon I'll get to you around 5ish ( looking forward to all ...
