The recommendation is if it's over 1m2 then go to 3mm. I would be especially wary of using 2mm in a holiday cottage situation.

Bambi are "silent". Only a bit louder than a fridge. Mine is about a metre away from me when I work. Most compressors I wouldn't want to be in the same room as, let alone have a conversation while it's powering up.

I think the most important thing is to remove the hammer block every now and again, strip it down clean it and regrease it before replacing it, which reminds me...For releasing the handles you could try a dry lubricant spray?

Thing is, if I do a level 1 piece and want to price for volara tape or rebate tape, I can build it in to the software and charge accordingly.

Sounds good, I have a framer about 50 miles away to compare prices with. Just to check you're on the right page.

@vintageframes World Domination obviously! Sleeper cells, once a member the AI program has access to the entire database and can improve it's understanding on the subject etc. It seems that this bot mistook picture framing for building framing?? As someone in the ether pointed out, we thought AI was...

Re: Do you all use some kind of software?
I agree with JonathanB. Your methodology gives me serious red flags. I have followed the adage "charge as much as the market can bear" since my beginnings and even that has been no guarantee of making a living as there are so many other factors involved. But at any one time, knowing that y...

Sounds like you figured out the answer. Having suffered the same pain once, it's now the first thing I check with a square rule every time a canvas comes in. I have had to use slips in the past when there is no way to remedy the canvas.

Re: What extra ‘must have’ equipment would you recommend?
Ah that's a shame but it sounds like a double edged sword. It did sound a bit like Christmas! Most of the fun is buying the tools as and when you need them. It probably explains why many of us don't actually make any money for the first few years, as we've spent it all on building up our tools and m...

Re: Do you all use some kind of software?
I have tried a couple and settled on Framiac by FrameR a few years ago. I couldn't be without it! There's no way that I could do the same calculations on quantities and wastage and mark-up that it does in a millisecond. It provides a jobsheet and invoice and innumerable other benefits for the reason...

Re: Filling of Corner Join
I was recommended Polyfilla Fine Surface "extra fine filler" for any gaps. Easy to use and clean-up and it'll take any colour/finish on top after. It sounds like a moulding suited to a Hoffmann join. If you're buying chop from LJ already, maybe try their routing service for the tricky ones...
