Float mounting tape?
I have been asked to float mount several oil paintings on board (Masonite??), they are not big at around 30x30cms, but I am still unsure at what would be the most secure method pass-through or hedgehog, but more importantly which tape would be strong enough. They are artist originals and I would lik...

Cassese CS200 etc. owners?
I am having a small issue with my CS200, the chevron table with the locking handle has become extremely difficult to move..I virtually force it back and forth. I have looked and cleaned the whole area for debris..all seems fine. I am loathe to use any kind of lubricant unless absolutely required on ...

Re: Fletcher FSC, Bambi compressor & cash register for sale
Hi Simon, interested to see your comment on this bambi, could I ask what compressor you use instead, we are in the market for a new compressor..I’ve spoken to a couple of companies and there knowledge on a framers needs can be a little limited..

Re: Trimming down a print
Really interesting discussion and totally agree, but the looks I’ve got when I say we don’t trim!!, but just to clarify, when you are saying don’t stick down, do you mean mounting or not even archival tee hinging? Sweaty palms here too

Re: Backing tape.
Funnily David, I have been mostly using sekisui and ordered some gummed tape just last week as I feel it will be the better option going forward (fairly new to framing). I have found sekisui great to use, it sticks well to itself, burnishing thoroughly is vital..but what I wanted to say before you o...

Re: Framers pins.
I use sekisui at present and on the whole am happy, but I’m always looking to improve and have read that water activated (gummed?) tape is better.

Re: Framers pins.
Thanks David.
Yes thoroughly burnished. I summised that it may have been due to the MDF backboard (retained as it held info) or the extreme temperatures.

Re: Framers pins.
Thank you, really appreciated & believe it or not quite inspiring, just to look a little differently at the options. There’s plenty of room left in the frame but I think I am being a little cautious..as when I looked at a reframe that I had done last week, the tape (sekisui - from Simons) had bu...

Framers pins.
Quick question, what is best to use to fix a painting on mdf board (fairly heavy) into a frame? Fletcher framers pins seem a little lightweight?
