Morso fence question
Hello all I am sure this is a really stupid question but here goes. If I set the fences like the manual says I get an inside gap on the last join. Therefore I need to move the left fence towards me to get 45 degree cuts. Does that mean I need to physically bend the moulding to make it slightly concav...

Re: Another gap issue
Aprreciate the replies guys. The picture shows unpinned unglued moulding. I just assumed that the two pieces should have a good join even before pinning..ie resting against each other. I will try cutting some lengths without the rebates to see if that helps. Will also try the other blades I have. He...

Another gap issue
Hi everyone After cutting two pieces of moulding with my morso I set them loosely on the bench to see if there are any gaps. I have noticed that if just place them together without glue or anything there is a gap all the way down. Its not as if the gap is front or back, its just a straight gap. I ca...

Re: Underpinner Problem
So after two weeks of taking apart and cleaning, reassembling, rinse and repeat I have sorted the problem. Unbelievably all it took was a couple of sprays of WD40 on the shaft that is connected to the pressure pad to loosen the dried grease and it now works like a dream. Thanks again for everyone's ...

Re: Underpinner Problem
Thanks for all the advice. The only parts I cleaned where inside where the firing mechanism. I didn't touch the pneumatic piston or the connecting shafts. Looking at 'Not your average framers' suggestions I think number three looks the most likely. A while ago the hammer got jammed and I had to take...

Re: Underpinner Problem
Any idea what i should tinker with regarding synchronisation? Its pretty basic machine. Air goes into pedal and then spits in two into piston (push and pull i assume). There are no setting to alter so don't really know what to do.

Re: Underpinner Problem
I completely agree that the pad is rubbish. Any chance of a photo of the widget your talking about prospero? If I move the pad down to pretty much touch the moulding it still lifts slightly. I have discovered that when it is working correctly and I double pin, the next pin starts causing the lifting...

Re: Underpinner Problem
Thanks for the replies. This happens with all mouldings and comes and goes on a daily basis. Here is a video showing what I mean. Compressor just happens to kick in on the clip, sorry about that.

Underpinner Problem
Hope someone can help me with this problem. I have a old Euro underpinner (I think) that my father used for years without any issue. He recently passed away and I have kind of taken up the reins of the business. The problem is that when the pin is fired up into the moulding the frame lifts slightly ...

Hello all My name is Richard and I run Solitaire Fine Arts in N.Ireland. The business was originally my fathers whom I helped out occasionally when I was younger. He passed away a year ago and I have been slowly trying to reacquaint myself with the machines and tools (mainly very old stuff but still...
