Re: new underpinner info reqd.

I would definately try to get to the spring fair next week to try them out. The 144 is the new version of the older 44 I believe? I went to buy the minigraf 4 years ago and after comparing the 4 to 44 there was no comparrison. I love the 44! You dont see many second hand ones though as they are not ...

Re: Software.....

CorelDraw is a very good generic graphics program used across the whole engraving, signwriting and framing businesses as well as others. It has the ability to export artwork in many different formats so its just a case of finding what format you need for your CMC. I use DXF for the valiani so maybe ...

Re: When to change blades on Double Mitre Saw

I have never tried these but you can control the speed that the blades push through the moulding so if the moulding is moving slightly, just make the blade pass through slower so the moulding stays put. If ever you wanted to look into it further, you can always send me a sample length of moulding to...

Re: When to change blades on Double Mitre Saw

Not sure I fully understand this question but the blades are fixed at 45deg angles to the fence so can not cut at 90 deg

Does this help?

Re: When to change blades on Double Mitre Saw

WOW! What a difference a new set makes, didn't notice how blunt they had become :head: Mark said you can tell by the noise the blades make but didnt notice the change as it was so gradual. Now I have gone through my first rotation of blades I know what to look/listen for and will get them done a lot...

Re: When to change blades on Double Mitre Saw

Thanks for that, it is a little rough on the bottom so guess its time for a new set. Finally got the new dust extractor fitted this week as the temporary one was not up to the job. Got a unimaster in the warehouse bit now and 8" steel ducting running back to the saw, it works a treat, was feeli...

When to change blades on Double Mitre Saw

Had my Cassese 969 for a couple of months now and its done several thousand cut cycles and still seems to be cutting well. What are the first signs that the blades need sharpening? Got a brand new set ready to go on but am interested in what the first signs are that they are getting blunt. Many thanks

Re: Brevetti Prisma CE Mitre Saw: setting the blades

I had a similar problem when I purchased the same saw on ebay After asking around, I was told the secret, one of these http://www.axminster.co.uk/nobex-nobex-octo-folding-square-prod480222/ After cutting a piece, you use the 135 deg square to measure the angle of the cut, hold it up to the light and...

Re: I've been asked to supply this Mount?

Another option would be to print it on an inkjet
I print onto mountboard using n Epson 7890 but most of the large epson rage will do it.

You would need to scan it in and somehow tile the scanned image to make it bigger before printing, not an easy task but would work if all else fails....

Re: Minigraf 4 help please

Hi, I'm no expert with the mechanics but i'm sure the blue silencers are only there to quieten air as its released from the machine so if there is air continually leaking out of the silencer, then there is probably a problem further back inside the machine. If you take the blue thing off you can see...

Re: workshop risk assessments

Yep health and safety is a tough one for our industry but from personal experience it should include: 1) never put fingers under the underpinner clamp (that hurts) 2) make sure you learn lessons of number one and don't do it again weeks later, I guess the safety guard was on there for a reason! :hea...

Re: Anyone bought stamps to save money after April 30th

It makes me more determined to use email & fax for everything so won't be bulk buying any stamps. We used to spend £500 a month at the postoffice despatching frames but after the last strike we switched to a courier and have not looked back! Its a no win situation for them as the more it goes up...

Re: CASSESE CS939 on EBAY

All you now need is a cassese 3099 under pinner. I have an Alfamacchine Minigraf MP which does the same job, 'll have to respray it red to match :giggle: I do like Afla's stuff but when it came to the saw it seems Cassese is a clear winner, now just add a new extractor, a bigger hydrovane and a tin...
