Re: Morso F wanted Scotland or North England
Hello That would be ideal as it's about 2 hours 45 mins from me. I could do that and back no trouble. I assume it'll fit in an estate car? What day would suit?

Re: Morso F wanted Scotland or North England
Hello G&B
I might be interested in your Morso. Only problem being I'm up in Edinburgh so I don't want to drive too far south to collect it. Is there a possibility you could drive north a bit and meet me? I'd pay for your petrol.

Re: Liberon Gilt Cream Question
If the gilt cream is durable then I won’t put any wax on it. It would be easier just to apply the wax to the whole frame which I’d do if the wax wasn’t going to affect the gilt cream but I’ll just work around it and buff it all up together.

Liberon Gilt Cream Question
Hello. Hoping someone can answer a quick question. I've just applied some Liberon gilt cream to a couple of frames which I'd now like to finish with wax polish. I'm assuming the wax won't react with the gilt cream in any way but it's the first time I've tried it and I'd hate to have my work ruined a...

Re: Trying a new finish
Hello all. Thanks again for the great comments! It's very encouraging after my very short time framing, not even a year yet. The ripple frame is a modified R&H A644 with a beveled slip also from R&H. I like the A644 moulding a lot but I thought the outside edge was a bit dull so I added a fu...

Re: Underpinning issue
I don't know for sure but isn't this more to do with how the mitres are being cut rather than the underpinning? I'm sure someone who knows more will offer more help than I can.

Re: Trying a new finish
Thanks Mark. I love them too, the tabernacle frames and Dutch ripple are definitely my favourite. I think going online is the key to selling these types of frame. There’ll be buyers out there, just need to get seen by them.
Cheers.

Re: Trying a new finish
Hello Allan. Thanks for your comments. I'm fairly new to stacking frames so for me it's a case of looking at mouldings online and guessing which ones go well together then buying lengths in and experimenting. Of course, the more mouldings I buy the more I can physically hold them together and have a...

Re: Trying a new finish
Hello all. Thanks for the comments but this post is from December last year. Not sure why it's popped up again? Here's a couple of frames I have just finished though. Hope you like them. Nice tabernacle frame for a vintage print tabernacle.jpg And a dutch ripple style frame just finished today rippl...

Help with a cropped image.
Hello everyone I have this little pencil drawing that someone gave me. The problem is it’s been cut out from a sketch pad and the cropped edge too close to the image to go in a mount. Any framer’s tricks on how to get around this other than just sticking it down to another bit of paper? It doesn’t h...

First stacked frames
Hello everyone I recently decided to buy a small cheap band saw and after a lot of research, I had one of these arrive on my doorstep last weekend. 55938FC7-FE5A-47C8-96E9-D37B4D961D64.jpeg After some watching of YouTube videos and some tweaking and tinkering, got it set up and working quite nicely....

Re: Hello, Going into business for myself
Hey John. Welcome to the forum. We have some similarities in that I'm also a bass player (double, not bass guitar), I live in Scotland too (East Lothian) but unlike you, I've only been framing for less than a year. I work from my conservatory just now which isn't ideal. It's pretty small and when it...
