Re: Stacked Frames

Thanks again Mark. Perfecting those corners is an are itself. I’ll get myself practicing on this aspect and then expand a bit more until I’ve almost perfected it. I’ll try and get in touch with some local framers and see if I can spend any time with them

Re: Stacked Frames

Think I need a step by step guide into how these pieces are made. Is there a video or any books that would be of any help. Or if anyone is about to start making one could you send me and pics from start to finish of the stages you went through
Thanks

He makes and sells these to artists and photographers.
All he's got is a Morso, a band saw and an account with R&H.
I wouldn’t even know where to start on this, looks amazing

Re: Stacked Frames

Really enjoying the conversations and pictures on this topic. Although I’m only new to framing these stacked ones have always caught my eye. I’ve not had much time in the workshop over the past few weeks but I promise I’ll be in there over the next few weeks and will display my efforts. Thanks every...

Re: Stacked Frames

Thanks again Mark. I have a hand held underpinned but this is t the best and often causes problems and the joking opens when I’ve tried to use it. At the min I’m not able to afford a nice expensive one that would be perfect. I’m going to have a look around and see what’s available locally. Thanks Fr...

Re: Stacked Frames

Thanks for your replies. I’m not in my workshop this weekend but will get in there next week and keep practicing. I don’t have an underpinned so sometimes the joints open up , even though the wood is the same lengths, Is there a way of preventing this
Thanks again

Sending a PM

Been trying to respond to a message for a while now. I’ve removed the cookies and still no success. As soon as I press the submit option , I get logged off and the message is deleted.
Is anyone having these problems.
Thanks

Re: What stain

Thanks for all your replies, it’s not as simple as I thought it was going to be. I have bare wood, not sure what type and I’d like them to be Black.

What stain

Just asking what brand of stain people are using. This will be my first experience of it so I may use a bit more than required for the first few attempts.
Thanks everyone

Polcore

Polcore is proving to be a nightmare today, at one point I was carrying it over to the Mersey to watch it drift awayIve then I decided to just leave it in the workshop and use proper wood for a while. 🤣🤣
