Re: Double mount, coloured bevels
Yes, I use glue but I have always tended to spread it out evenly all over rather than beads or dots, which doesn't make it easy to reposition things, so that's helpful to know thanks.

Re: Double mount, coloured bevels
Ooh I like those but also ouch. I should look at other types of board. I played safe with masking, they needed a couple of coats to look uniform and I wasn't brave enough. Assembling them I tried both ways - marking on the back first, then eyeballing and 'micro-nudging' with a steel rule. Justintime...

Re: GDPR - Customer contact details and software.
Thank you, that's really helpful. I'll have to check if FramR is always offline, as it does need the internet to sync to the catalogues. I'm not sure if anything is stored on the server. Does that apply to my email/Messenger records? As although they are for my use only, they are stored somewhere on...

GDPR - Customer contact details and software.
My brain is going fuzzy.... I am in paperwork mode. Bleugh. Is anyone up for sharing - very, very basically - how you manage GDPR on this lovely sunny weekend? I complete GDPR training every year in my 'day job' so I am well aware of the general principals, how personal data is affected, my responsi...

Re: Energy contracts
I found a few brokers were being sneaky and using a local area code, so I would answer thinking it was a customer. I don't like those tactics.

Re: Energy contracts
Electricity sorted. I rang direct and have signed a 12 month contract. £0.00 standing charge, £0.2494/kw. That saves me about £40-45 per month!
I have no idea why I left it so long to look into things!

Re: Energy contracts
Thank you Tudor, I've had a look at British Gas Lite and they are indeed much cheaper than I am currently paying even if I go for a 1 year contract. I have probably over spent £60 for this billing period. Meh. I have also found the rates the broker quoted direct from that supplier, inputting my figu...

Re: Energy contracts
No other broker came close to those rates. Ooh, I hadn’t thought about Moneysaving Expert. I’ll have a mooch over there. My concern is that they verbally say there are no penalties, which goes against my understanding of a commercial contract. The contract has a generic address (rather than my actua...

Energy contracts
I'm looking for a reality check with electricity prices if anyone is able please? My predicted electricity use is <1000kw per year and I'm currently on deemed rates. My current supplier's contract rates would cost me more due to a higher standing charge. I have been given a contract price by a broke...

Re: Artwork is shedding. What can I suggest to the artist?
Update: They have all been collected and paid for. When I pointed out the two that had been shedding, they instantly said "oh is it sand?" I don't think it was unexpected! Although everything looks good now, I've said they should be kept upright and handled with care. We left it that shoul...

Re: Artwork is shedding. What can I suggest to the artist?
Don't let someone else's problem become yours. :P I feel this is my problem though as I should have thought about it more. Albeit, the one that is worst was a last minute addition. They showed me a picture of what they wanted and I just agreed. The shock of the point gun, and especially the staple ...

Re: Artwork is shedding. What can I suggest to the artist?
Thanks, that’s what I originally suggested but they didn’t want that look. I didn’t think it through further. To add one now would mean removing all the spacers.
They usually make their own frames in this style but without glass.

Artwork is shedding. What can I suggest to the artist?
I have literally just finished the last of these for an exhibition to be collected tomorrow. I have no time to fix anything now but I want to suggest something to sort out future problems. I'm not quite sure what. :sweating: The first few were fine. The last couple decided to shed shed 'bits' everyw...

Eyeball putting it back together? That sounds a bit scary. Is there any way to help it go back in the right place?

Double mount, coloured bevels
I need to make a double mount with coloured bevels but I just can't quite get my head round how. :head: I can make a single coloured bevel. I can make a double mount (sticking together before cutting the inner window). But how do I go about double/coloured? Do I have to cut the double mount differen...
