Re: Help identifying moulding needed!

Thanks for the help Ricky, I will speak to my customer and see what she wants to do. I'm impressed an answer was found so quickly, this forum is brilliant isn't it!

Re: Help identifying moulding needed!

I've got a sample of that Lion one, and it's not the right colour really, but it's the closest I've got so far. I use Lion, A&T and Arqadia mainly, and that's the closest I've found from the 3 of them. I like the idea of using the spacer for the step though, although to get a step and rebate it soun...

Re: Help identifying moulding needed!

It's definitely all one moulding, but yes, it's a 20"x24" standard size frame.

The customer knows I might not be able to match exactly, but at the moment I can't even match vaguely!

Help identifying moulding needed!

Hello everyone, I have a customer who wants to match a frame bought from a photography studio about 3 years ago, and I don't recall ever seeing anything like it from the suppliers I use. I'm slightly confused because it looks and feels like an oak or oak veneer moulding, but the back is smooth and y...

Re: Arqadia Claryl Glass

I've been using Claryl for about 18 months, mainly on the photos I frame for a local portrait photographer but also to whoever will pay for the upgrade. Looks great (particularly on the photos) and the demonstrater has lots of finger prints in the centre where everyone jokingly prods the middle one,...

Wanted: Arqadia Moulding

Desperately seeking one length of Arqadia's 725 079 000, preferably from batch 090505/1456. The lengths I have are 2.74m which is long enough! I'm trying to frame five pictures for a customer and only have enough for four frames, Arqadia are out of stock until January and although my customers have ...

Re: Needed: Oval double mount in Daler mountboard

Hi John,
I meant to say thanks for the reply and the offer, but I'm rethinking the job. By the time I've paid postage both ways the job won't be worth doing as the mount is for an existing frame, so the job isn't worth much unfortunately.
Thanks anyway,
Jo

Needed: Oval double mount in Daler mountboard

Hi, if anyone could give me a price for a double oval mount including posting it to me, I would be very grateful! I don't have an oval cutter at the moment but I don't want to let a regular customer down. It's to fit in an existing oval frame, so needs to be oval internally and externally. Outside s...

I get my glass from the Leamington depot of Wessex since they merged with Glass & Mirror, and they don't offer the recycling service anymore. My offcuts are building up again....

It's just the old Valiani pneumatic headed cutter, not a CMC!

WANTED: Supplier of thick mounts!

Hi all, I have a photographer customer who wants 3.5mm mounts for their photographs, but I only have a Valiani Mat-Pro which won't cut it. Is there anyone on here who could supply them to me, either by post or collection if you are vaguely near Leicestershire (or Aldershot.) Looking for Arqadia's Sn...

Re: Waste glass disposal.

Float glass should DEFINITELY not be put in the recycling bins at the supermarket, I know that much. (Which is a terrible shame as there is one 30yds from my door) For about the first three years I was open, I had no idea what to do with the glass so ended up with a workshop full of offcuts! I'm now...

Janet Treby

Hi all,
Does anyone happen to know who is currently publishing Janet Treby's work? Or even if she has done anything new lately? I can't seem to find her anywhere at the moment, even with lots of Googling!
Many thanks, Jo

Wanted: Arqadia Red Confetti Moulding

Hi all, I'm in need of just a couple of lengths of Arqadia's Confetti range 140 635 Red moulding to complete a job but they are out of stock until deliveries mid-June. Has anyone got a couple of lengths tucked away that they could part with and help me out? Preferably in the Midlands area so I can c...

What would frames have been like in the 1910's / 1920's?!!

A customer has bought in some watercolours that her grandmother painted around 1920, featuring ladies in the fashions of the period. They are only about 15"x11" but she would like them framed as they might have been at the time as she also lives in a house built around that time. I guess we were aro...

Mine is EXACTLY 3m which in theory is absolutely perfect, but if a length of moulding is a shade over 3m or if it is wide and I get it caught at an angle, I end up taking chunks out of the ceiling! Another 10cm would have been great....

Dark Wood Mount Slip - Ideas Anyone?

Hello!
I frame for a photographer who likes to have mountslips on all her work, but we are struggling to find one to match a dark wood frame from Arqadia that she uses. Has anyone seen anything like that, and if so, where was it from?!!
Thank you!

Dry Mounting, Heat Sealing etc...

I have a photographer particularly interested in canvas bonding but need to complete with all the online services offered. Anyone willing to tell me roughly w...
