The 526 ... 167 range of black mouldings...

how successful are you at joining these?
I try 10 mm wedges and the black surface face cracks, 7 mm and the face is too loose.
I always use glue.
Do you have any tips for good solid joints with these mouldings?
Also what type of glue do you use normally for reliable joints?

Help please re. Proturner/Cassese/uni wedges

I've got an old orange Proturner underpinner, about 20 years old, still working well. I've always used Cassese uni wedges (loose strips which go into a metal chute) but I've only got 7 and 10 mm chutes. I want to use 12 and 15 mm wedges but do not have the chutes. Lion used to do them years ago but ...

That's a VERY polite way of saying "increasing prices".

Arqadia login....anybody else's not working?

Only seems to be on the login section for "Browse catalogue" (account login) and I get a "runtime error" message.
Just me or yours too?

Re: Black marker for joining Matt Black moulding

I use a black Edding pen.......from Lion..... it's a water based ink so doesn't leave the purple stain on the moulding. It's easy to wipe off with a paper towel or even a bit of spit on your finger. The black marker pens that leave the purple stain contain a chemical (can't remember off hand what it...

"You will provide a pastel trap, won't you....." WHAT??!!

Please help a thicko (me) to understand what the flip is a pastel trap that a customer has asked us for.
My "superiors" said, yes, no problem, then later asked me what it was. As if I knew !

A difficult batik-type-thing to stretch.... any ideas?

I've been given this batik wotsit to stretch but the problem is that the image goes more or less to the edge with only about an inch or so spare material around it all. The customer wants the full image showing and the stapling round the back but obviously there is not enough material to pull round ...

20 MINUTES TO CUT 4 FRAMES...!!!!?????

Sounds to me Alistair like you need to take your legs to the repair man !
Get them oiled up and you'll find you can do at least five.

Hope you are keeping well otherwise.

Constant problems with self adhesive backing tape....

It's a problem I've had for years, and i don't honestly know how to resolve it. I've used expensive Tesa tape and cheaper Eurotape/Ecotape (brown self adhesive sealing tapes for those not au-fait) and when I complete a job it looks absolutely fine.... all nice and neat, tucked into the rebate, what ...

Re: Trying to locate Arqadia 637547000

I'm fairly certain that this is one we have in Lincoln.... but I could be wrong.
The number rings a bell, but it could also be the case that it may be one that we've also run out of.
As suggested phone 01522 512857 and see what happens.
Dave.

Re: Mitrecraft Lincoln

Good morning Alistair.....yes it's me !!! Nice to hear from you, hope you are well... and still getting those bags of wood for me. It was a great shame when M/Cr went under, 20 - 30 years of knowledge, experience and terrific service wiped out in a flash. We are now endeavouring to take up the chall...

Re: Mitrecraft Lincoln

Thanks very much Graham, we're doing our very best under trying circumstances. It's not easy out there in the big wide world of framing but so long as we can continue to give of our best, which I honestly think we are doing, then we cannot and will not be faulted for trying. It would be nice to hear...

Re: Morso problem..... what's happened here???

They have a number stamped on to the top of each side, and this is the same as the serial number of the machine, so I assume they are genuine original fittings.

Morso problem..... what's happened here???

I have a certain amount of knowledge re. morsos and how they function and how adjusments can be made, but this has got me baffled. I've seen a morso this morning where the guides (?) that the rebate supports run in, you know, the silvery coloured bits that form the right angle the blades descend thr...

Arcadia "Confetti" range......

I've noticed that quite a lot of framers have this lovely colourful range on their boards.....but..... how do you go on when cutting it? Whenever I try it always seems to break up on the mitred outside edge, especially at the bottom, and I find it hard to fill, firstly because I can't find any soft ...
