Thanks very much to everyone on the forum, when i first started researching a few months ago this place was invaluable. Could anyone recommend a training course (pre...

Re: Looking to purchase
Thanks Mister DIY for the thoughts, that is very helpful and I appreciate it.
Thanks Brian, once I have a few things sorted out I will be in touch if they are still available and see if they could work for us.

Re: Looking to purchase
Hi Kartoff
Thanks for the thoughts, it is something I am considering. I'm thinking what my medium/long term aims are too and trying to buy well with that in mind. If the right deal isn't out there, then that may well be a good option. I appreciate your time.

Thanks Steve, appreciate it.
Simple and useful are attributes that are high on my agenda. Value for money too. I am leaning towards Estlite at this stage.

Software & Suppliers
Hi Everyone I've been looking at Estlite and i-Framer and I'm trying to get my head around the capabilities / limitations of each one and would appreciate any thoughts on the subject. How difficult are these programs to set up? For example if I choose a supplier (arqadia say) do I have to manually e...

Re: Moulding Suppliers Questions
Thanks so much everyone. That's given me some good ideas on how to approach it - don't overface myself with stock and be prepared to adapt to what my customers are looking for over time, there is no correct approach kind of thing. Good tip on the rebate size too. Thanks Kartoff - I'm actually at the...

Re: Moulding Suppliers Questions
That's brilliant, thanks very much. So would I be correct in the following assumption Customer selects moulding after consultation THEN framer orders moulding (apart from a few popular ones in stock) THEN build frame Rather than having a large stock? Would it be standard practice to do an order once...

Moulding Suppliers Questions
Hi Folks I'm looking at Moulding suppliers and trying to find an effective way of going about it. Do you generally use one supplier? Or do you use a number of different ones? Or perhaps use a specialist for the occasional fancy job? In my head it seems easier and cleaner to use a single supplier, bu...

Re: Starter Kits
Thanks folks for the input and advice, it is very much appreciated. I'm currently trying to price good quality second hand machinery so I have an idea of what the going rate is. I've also had tentative discussions with a nearby framer who is looking to retire. He has very good equipment, probably to...

Re: Starter Kits
Thanks for that, loads of info there to digest.
It's starting to become a little clearer for me. I've enquired about courses and hopefully at the end of that I will have a clear idea of what machinery I want to use.
Next stage is to start thinking of all the sundries...

Re: Starter Kits
Thanks - trying to figure out what equipment is up to the job is proving to be the difficult part. I can see the sense in purchasing a job lot from someone who has been doing it.

Starter Kits
Hi Folks
Does anyone have any experience with the DIYFraming start up kit - https://www.diyframing.com/store_viewIt ... ItemID=559
Does anyone else offer kits or is it better to piece it together manually?
Thanks for your time, there is much useful stuff on this forum.
