Re: Framing a large map

If they are recently printed ones and you go the route of sticking down don't use any process involving heat as the ink will be affected. There is a warning about this on the OS website and I believe it is sent out as a printed version with the maps. There has been previous discussion here on this s...

Re: glass cleaning

Best paper towel I have found is Wypall L40 made by Kimberley Clark.

Virtually lint free and very strong. One box will last you for ages.

I use these for initial cleaning with Nilglass then finish with a microfibre cloth from Preservation Equipment Ltd.

Re: Supplier Moulding and Mountboard Images in Pre-View

The only ones I have successfully downloaded are Arqadia mouldings. Tried to connect to Lion but get error messages. As for mountboard I have scanned the selectors and played around with the colours using the adjustments in Preview. Take a look at Arqadia website and see the colours of their mount b...

Having their own profiles made would make a lot of sense given the prices they charge for exactly the reason you state.

Re: Help identifying Venture photography moulding set

Closest thing I can think of is the Simons "Pheonix" range but not sure the dimensions match. Venture may have had them made to their own spec. If you are trying to match other Venture stuff then Arqadia mouldings would be worth a look. Having said that the Venture network is very much sma...

Re: Sole Trader - best business account ?

I have accounts that were opened with Alliance & Leicester. Never paid any charges and even been paid a little interest. Cash/cheques can be paid in at any Post Office which happens to be convenient for me. There is a small charge if more than £5k is paid in in cash per month but that has never ...

I kinda predicted where this was going to end.

Would love to do that at home as I seem to be the only one in the house that actually replaces a bog roll when its all gone!

Adam send me a PM and I will give you details of a good printer in Peterborough at really good prices. You will have to do your own artwork though to get the best deal.

Re: Flyers

My flyer includes this photo for visual appeal: Flyer Photo.jpg But cropped so it does not take up too much room. Include a map of how to find you. Make your wording brief and to the point and encourage visits. A promotion like "10% off on production of this leaflet" will help you judge re...

Re: Offcuts

Hate binning stuff because I always think what it costs to buy but probably you have to accept there is a built in wastage factor in your pricing. As regards size I think it depends on your business. If you have a market for small ready mades then anything over 8 x 10 ins is probably worth keeping a...

Re: What is a Limited Edition anyway?

Generally a limited edition will be numbered in normal numerals e.g. 195/250 and artist proofs will be anotated AP and numbered in roman numerals e.g. AP XII/XXV. Don't think this is always followed though. I believe the FATG say there should be no more than 10% of the edition as artists proofs. I w...
