I’ll take it. Can I give you a ring tomorrow?

Re: Mounting very large photo
I don’t have a definitive answer but would give some thought to using something like Lineco mounting strips (Lion item 9505). They will allow some expansion of the paper and support it around all the edges. I might also consider a small number of pass through hinges in the mass of the centre to help...

Re: Framing Medals
If medals have been professionally mounted then they should already be in the correct order. It is quite easy to investigate correct order - if you need help just put up a photo of the medals and I (and probably others) will be quite happy to advise. I did have a set in for reframing not so long ago...

Re: Framing Medals
Justin, We have done a few of these, I will try to explain (not sure if I have photos on the shop computer). Normally made for customers that want to take out the medals to wear on Remembrance Sunday. This is easier if medals are still mounted on the pin to attach to uniform (known as swing mounted ...

Re: Example of painted mount decoration
Jo,
That is very impressive. What paint did you use and how did you mask off the divisions between colours/white?

Re: Dry mount plastic "canvas"?
For this sort of job we lay the ‘canvas’ onto 3mm self adhesive board and then stick it in a cold Hotpress for 30 seconds of full vacuum (no heat)

Re: Wizard spares
Matt, When I had a Wizard 8500 a few years ago the power supply unit in the main control box failed. Back then support was provided by Framers Corner and they sorted out the problem very quickly. Wizard Europe now provide support to UK machines from Germany. With the best will in the world and (to m...

At £25 per foot I’ll ask the customer if he will be happy to pay close to £1000 after I add my mark up!

Re: Trying to find similar
Mark, Thanks for that. Lion’s (now discontinued) range had 4 different colours available; grey, walnut, wenge and rosewood. My customer isn’t too bothered about the wood type, it’s more the very glossy finish on top that matters and at the moment I don’t have the time, skill/knowledge to replicate it.

Trying to find similar
A customer is after a wide profile with a glossy wood finish. Lion used to have a range called Greenwich and the rosewood version is similar to that required. Does anybody have any suggestions of some others I could look at. Photo of Lion attached about 54mm wide 58CF9C8A-495E-4A65-8838-517E8A76B0FB...

Ross,
Innov8 is spot on, I believe the moulding code is 582.9402 and is despatched direct from the factory in Spain.

Re: Insurance / working from home
When I worked from home my insurance for the house was provided by NFU. When asked they quite happily provided a bolt on for the business for a small increase to my premiums (it was 7 - 11 years ago).

We use Mainline’s blade sharpening service. I once used a local company and their prices were very low, the reason for the cheapness soon became apparent.
