Re: new blades
I got a set of these a few weeks ago as it was time to replace a pair of my Morso ones. I finally got round to fitting them last week, but it took ages to get the cut right, put them on and off about four times to see if that helped, tweaked the left fence lots. Managed to cut some mouldings really ...

Re: Mount board Choices
Arqadia for me, I find it feels slightly more rigid than some of the other boards I have used and most of my stuff is mounted and not framed so this helps.
I had tried a few of the budget boards but they always seem really flimsy and the ones I used always had scrappy edges.

Re: P&P for complete frames
I regularly send frames out, always with glass and mostly 70 x 50 cms or bigger. I wrap mine in bubble wrap use some mountboard offcuts round the edges of frames, use some mdf offcuts on the top and bottom and then just tape with two sheets of mdf over them. In three years only had one damaged, glas...

Re: Sarnie, anyone?
I seal with p90 tape, to stop both the thunderflies, but mainly because the matt black mouldings I mostly use cause issues with small bits getting underneath the glass as I fire in the tabs. Everything would be spotless I would fire in the tabs and Matt black coating has tiny bits that come off and ...

Re: Bench coverings
I use cutting Mats and then have a roll of underlay for wood floorings which I use when putting together frames. Soft, easy to shake out and the glass does not slip.

Re: support for large frames when underpinning
I got rid of my bench end guillotine and moved my underpinner to end of the bench thinking it would be easier working from the back, but just couldn't get on with it set up that way. I too will stand in the middle of a larger frames and pin it that way.

Re: Greetings Card and Postcard Printing
Interested to hear how you get on too. I sell a lot of my photography work to retail outlets for greetings cards and postcards along with other prints. For the main fine art prints it's no problem as a I run a large format Epson, but have always wanted to print my own cards and postcards in house at...

Re: Keencut system 4000 mdf problem
Many thanks to both of you for your help. My System 4000 was purchased second hand last year. It was set up for about six months but unused as I could never get it square, I purchased a bevel box but still had no luck getting it square. After around six months Idecided to look at it again and fitted...

Keencut system 4000 mdf problem
I wonder if anyone can help, I am having problems with my Keencut system 4000. I purchased this second hand around a year ago, recently it's been producing lots of mdf dust and I noticed the other day the mdf cutting head was loose. Re: Good manual point gun?
I use the black Fletcher. When I got a second hand bench end guillotine from eBay when I was starting out the guy gave me a load of extras including red and black Fletcher guns. With some more equipment I purchased at the time I also got a pneumatic gun which was only about six months old and cost o...

Re: Ltd Ed Print mounting advice please!
I use one of the Mainline basic boards that are stated as conservation level for my backing board. It's much cheaper at £2.30 a sheet, I then use Arqadia for my main board for the mounts. I have tried the roller blind method and it works well with certain papers. I never got on that well with it whe...

Re: pneumatic vs manual
I have only ever used a pneumatic underpinner, but if it ever broke I couldn't imagine going to a manual model. I paid about £250 from eBay for my secondhand Taurus doubleheaded underpinner and it has been fantastic in the three or fours years since I got it. Hard woods and stacking are no problems ...

Have a look at Framers Equipment, they do group courses but I did a one to one with Jan a few years back. Was really good and he was able to come to me too so it was all with my own equipment.

Try ACS, not used them yet as I just cut down MDF sheets for my packaging but keep meaning to get some boxes made and have been recommended ACS before.

I have not used that model but I do have a double headed 292d Taurus underpinner. It has been excellent for me and never had any issues with it. mine has no problem joinging and stacking in hardwoods too.

Re: Delivery options?
I don't send loads of frames in the post, usually around 10 a week and so far in two years I have not had one breakage. I use lots of bubble wrap, scrap bits of mdf or mountboard over the bubble wrap where the glass is and then two bits of 2mm mdf round the whole thing with plenty of mdf hanging ove...
