Re: CMC
Our first CMC was a Fletcher F6100 (1999-2008) which was designed more vertical (about 60 degrees) with the tight quarters in mind that exist in most frame shops and it worked fine. Our current Valiani Future sits more like a tilted draftsman's table at about 20 degrees which is honestly more conduc...

Re: Medal Case and boxes
Steve, Thanks for your PM... You asked about the PFM article and not to take anything away from the yet to be released issue, Tim Franer shared a number of photos with me of this project. I'd like to share a few with you here... http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b144/grumblegrumble/Tim%20Franer/imag...

Re: Bevelled Mirrors
Typically any vendor/supplier who does custom sized beveled mirrors will stock the pre-cut sizes also and should be able to provide you with a list of those sizes? Keep that list handy as often a customer's "needs" for a certain size are very close to an existing pre-cut size, and over her...

Re: Medal Case and boxes
First of all, do what I did when I was asked to do a medal in its case - beg the customer to just frame the medal! I said "The box isn't for display, it's for safe keeping, it's meant to be kept closed; medals are not worn in their boxes, the frame will become its display box. It will also be ...

With the weight of this shirt and 10 small portrait photographs already attached... ...how do you prevent the whole thing from sagging forward when assembling and afterwards? Advice sort please. Re: West Coast Art Frame show - Las Vegas Jan 2016
Keith's comment on cost won't be far adrift, the website link offers hotel rooms from $104 / night for up to 4. is there any preview of what course are available, do they involve fees, are any available as post show downloads, is there stuff there that will set your offer miles beyond the norm, tha...

Re: End of cut mark on bevel....
... I seem to be getting these blade marks whilst cutting mounts, I've tried different blades (12/15 & single/double edged), this only has appeared recently but I can't figure out what I'm doing differently. My mount cutter is a Keencut Futura btw.... A few years ago I wrote an article for my M...

Back to the subject of discussion... :) Why on earth don't we have a show like that in Europe ! Teresa, I believe that the reason has everything to do with how the WCAF Expo first positioned itself among the other shows at the time... the dedicated themselves to the Educational aspects of the indust...

Yes we are looking for direct source of manufacturers mainly We are contacted via Email constantly by Chinese manufacturers for moulding and gift products, simply because our website is highly optimized. So I would think that if your website is positioned well, you should be receiving the same soli...

I loosely put the two halves together and then turn the spring in, if you are really stuck send me the gun I will put it together and send it back, assuming nothing else is wrong with it. To modify this technique... Indeed have the main screws only partially located and tightened slightly. Allow th...

Hello Frances, Welcome to the Framers Forum! (I hope that is your name, but wouldn't know as you don't really reveal your identity in your profile). First off, I wouldn't worry about suppliers...there are many to select from and many will find you. Many you probably already know. Keep it dow...

Anyone going ? I've been a few times and its by far the best show in the world for framers Over 100 seminars covering absolutely everything a framer needs to know. Cost me about £1000 in total.- flights , 4 nights hotel and F&B. I book with http://www.expedia.com or similar Over the years, I've...

Because not enough of us get excited enough to go :( Possibly quite true. For all the years that I demonstrated, attended and taught at the Spring Fair, I noticed that there was always a dedicated group of individuals who would attend regardless of the scope of the trade fair - they knew that it ne...

YES - your time is valuable but finding a personalized delivery option is always a good solution. The OP might find someone they trust that has more time than money to do the job. John

Re: Delivery options?
For whatever is paid in protective packaging, insurance and transport, could you not load these in your own vehicle, charge the customer this same fee and delivery them yourself? Depending upon what you are charging and the distance, this might also be an option.

Re: 18 morsos for sale on eb*y at the minute
Dave, That does tell you a great deal about the state of the industry. A Morso in the UK is like a Fletcher 3000 wall cutter in the US. Evey shop probably has 1.5 :D Although we don't have any relative numbers for comparison, this does seem like a great deal - I would think that one might find a goo...
