Re: Paint finished frames

If you so insistent on having the last word Glimpse, do you want to provide some facts to back this point up?

Re: Router table black Friday sale - info for NYAF

NYAF I'm glad you've purchased this as we are guaranteed and in depth review from someone who knows what they are talking about. I'm looking for a router table at the moment, mainly to add spline joints, but the uses are endless. Also making a lot of split battens. http://www.rutlands.co.uk/sp+woodw...

Re: Spray Booth

I use Mylands for spray paint. They pre mix it for a HVLP. Occasionally use Little Greene it took a while to dilute it to the right consistancy, but means I can just buy a sample pot if its just one frame. The Mylands paint I use is a water based enamel and very pleased with it. We spray on the Mezz...

Re: Lost property

Update...

Sent him a polite email, and he paid me £100 said the rest would come in installments. Nearly covered materials cost so not too fussed. Even if his £100 is to stop me taking him to SCC i'm happy with that.

Indian Wedding Skirt

Indian Dress.jpg This is an Indian wedding dress, which the client wanted to be able to remove and possibly down the line wear (we all know she never will) It had an Mdf former cut to fit snug inside then was stuffed and lined in linen. The visible section in the waist line was then attached to the...

Lost property

I've had a client who in the process of placing an order that totaled around £800 has gone bust and left a trail of debt and fled back to New York. The order was placed last November. As his Gallery was on the same site as the workshop I never took a deposit. I still have the framed artworks, legall...

Re: Float mounting very large pictures

We weight the artwork on the mountboard, put a pencil mark where each tab is. Then if it is to have 50mm border, set the scale on left of the mount cutter to 55mm then whizz around cuttting slots. Pass all the hinges through and get the borders even, then weight it again. Bring one side over the edg...

Re: Float mounting very large pictures

We float mount about 75% of jobs and even up to 1500mm we often use pass through hinges and have no problems. Only takes about five mins to mark, cut and pass the hinges through.

Re: Jumbo Conservation Mountboard

Luckily my job is float mounted, annoyingly it's two panels with a gap in the middle, so the full splice will be on show, tempted to try the fabric, think that will look really good.

Re: Flattening prints etc

Tape a 40mm strip of thick cartridge paper the length of the tube it's come out of and use that strip of paper to hold the poster etc whilst you gently back roll it around the tube. Best though to leave it a few days first flattened under board to ease out the worst of the curl.
