I think it is possible to d/l the entire source code from some sites that you may like the look of and edit to replace the text/graphics with your own.

Slightly naughty and I'm sure no one on this forum would dream of doing such a sneaky trick.

Forgive my ignorance (probably the difference between Brit and Yank speak) but what is a “slip”? The term 'slip' is a bit ambiguous but to me a slip is a flat moulding with no rebate (sorry, rabbet. ). Originally used as a spacer under glass but more often used to add a gold sight edge to a ...

Is the slip going over or under the glass? In most old frames the slips are not joined and when all the frame is assembled they should not move. There is no reason not to join the pieces if it makes assembly easier and it will assure that the corners stay aligned. A bit of tape across the corner at ...

Severance:Blade of Darkness. Best Hack'n'Slash ever made. You can play online with it, but only 1-2-1 deathmatch. What I like about it is that a lot of the code is open source so you can make your own adventures. Here's a scrap I had eariler..... http://www.petrbnsfineart.com/bladestuff/bo...

I used to buy loads of stuff for Simmons but I found that the one thing you could rely on them for was that there would be at least one thing fouled up on each order. And the "customer sevice" left a lot to be desired. The last straw was when they invoiced me twice for the same order and w...

Robo. Sorry if I seem to be raining on your parade. :? Agreed, in most houses the climate is perfectly stable and even if the backs did bow they would go down again. But I like to consider the "what if " factor. The last thing you want is shoals of customers coming in complaining. Even one...

Acrylic paints are great for ideal for HF. :D They are quick drying and hard as nails when dry. Also a dry coat becomes insoluble so you can apply further diluted coats on top and stipple/drag etc for decorative finishes without disturbing the basecoat. I also use them as basecoat for gilding. They ...

Thanks for the info avantime...... Sounds just the stuff for me. :) Most of my frames start off as bare wood and a lot are made up of stacked profiles and no matter how accuarately you try to cut they always have a gap somewhere. I used to use Araldite on tricky woods, but the slow-setting variety s...

Interesting how names go in and out of favour and how they can give an impression of the person. I once works on a shift with 5 other guys who were all called George. There was also a man who had worked there for many years and hardly anyone knew his first name and if they did no one used it. They a...

The Cresent Blackcore range is very dense (at least up to the last lot - I don't use it much nowadays). The black cover paper has a nice texture and would look great for backing. Maybe this board is less hygroscopic than softer boards. In any case you could probably minimise any potential bowing by ...
