Re: Using a Morso without a left hand extension

My Morso is situated in a back room off the main shop, and I do not have an LH extension fitted as it would block access, plus I can only use it if the door to the other room is open so the moulding sticks through it. Just on the wall by the side of the door I have a short piece of wood that hinges ...

Re: Very large print on photographic paper

He has now come back to me and said not to do anything I'm uncomfortable with now I have pointed out the risks, so unless anyone has a brilliant idea, I am going to leave it alone.

Very large print on photographic paper

I am currently framing a large expensive limited edition print in metallic inks on high gloss photographic paper. Obviously being limited edition I didn't want to stick it down but the paper is rippling and the ripples catch the light and show up. The customer has said he is happy to have it stuck d...

Loooong Panoramic Photo

I was approached by a customer today with a panoramic photo they wanted framing but it's too much of a handful for me on my own, and wondered if anyone else would be prepared to do the job for them. The photo is 82" long by about 18" high. I'm in Leicestershire, guess it would need to be s...

Re: Discontinued Arqadia Moulding

Looked at Simon's and I can only find that profile in a natural pine, and most suppliers still seem to have that. It's not a valuable job and in an ideal world I just need a couple of lengths of 130131000. Wessex's B1491 is close, my customer has taken the sample home to compare.

Discontinued Arqadia Moulding

I have a customer who has previously had photos framed in Arqadia's 130131000 Antique Pine but it has been discontinued. Does anyone happen to have a secret stash of this hidden in a corner, or can help me find a match for it? No-one else seems to have one that dark unless you know different! I did ...

Arqadia Shoreham Moulding

I'm just curious how other people are getting on with Arqadia's Shoreham moulding range if they have tried it? I've tried a pack or two of around 4 of the varieties and keep having problems with it. A lot of the wood has those lovely Weetabix properties so does not cut at all well on a Morso, others...

SIC code?

My Controlled Waste Transfer Note from my local council is asking for my SIC code this year - never been asked before and I have no idea which one to pick from the very long list. Anyone else had to pick a SIC code, and if so, what have you used?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

It isn't hand finished, and is just a stained pine by the looks of it.

Re: Anyone recognise this?

I tried to get him to pick something else, I always do when I don't have the moulding, but it's to match several others so I said I'd have a go. As you say, just not worth having to get something specially for an A4 picture, but thought it may be worth asking about in case someone jumps up and tells...

Anyone recognise this?

DSC_0934.JPG Why do customers always want to match something you are pretty sure you haven't seen for years?!! Does anyone happen to recognise this frame? It's 30mm wide. Don't want to spend ages chasing it because they only want an A4 picture framed so it's not exactly a lucrative job! Thanks in a...

Re: Windows 8.1

I am using BBEst and have upgraded to Windows 10, but every time it opens I get this message (see attached photo). It doesn't stop it working, it's just a bit annoying! Is there any way around it?

For Sale: 11"x14" Children's Prints & Print Display Spinner

I'm just in the process of giving up trying to be a gallery (I'm not in a town centre location) and concentrate on the framing business. I have a selection of Children's prints on display in a spinner that is for sale if anyone might be interested. There are about 70 prints remaining, of Maisie the ...

Re: Paperweights

I have a shower screen manufacturer near me, and on a recent clearance day I failed to find a new shower but bought glass bathroom shelves for £1 each instead - 38cm long, heavy, nice smooth edges, toughened glass and a bonus being see through when there's no border on images. I have some small roun...

Re: Name that Moulding!

It looks like the plain black version of Simons 1229 (it's the same but just has a gold line on the sight edge), but it looks like the plain one (which did have quite a blue hue to it) has been pulled as it doesn't appear in the latest catalogue. I'd say the Arqadia one was the same thing but it is...

Name that Moulding!

I have another customer trying to match a moulding that they have had several pictures framed in previously, and I can't see it in A&T, Arqadia or Lion - does anyone else recognise it from somewhere else? It's very very dark blue, but probably looks black in the photos. Any clues would be much a...
