Moulding to surround outdoor blackboard

Any suggestions, currently looking at extruded aluminium, but a bit pricey for the size. Would a plastic moulding such as Arqadia's Artocore survive a very exposed location.

Ouch, that's a bit steep for what they are. I have one here which i have never used, but loathe to let it go, just in case. If you only want to borrow, we could arrange something.

Re: Raised borders on prints

I've got an old vac press (double mountboard ish size) that i have never used. It has a solid lid as opposed to the glass one and I've never felt brave enough to use it. I suspect though that if you've the room for it, it would probably be pefectly fine to do this. If anybody wanted to come and take...

Re: Selling lengths of moulding

I've identified the issue, I love the uneccesary distractions in life. I'm one of lifes procrastinators, the more opportunities I get to stop working and chat to a customer the happier my day's been. I'm also a huge snob, but not in a class / status kind of way. I just like the nice things in life, ...

Re: Good quality 32" mount cutter.

I had two keencuts before my CMC, I can only recomend, the second was only purchased to manage bigger mounts. Just have a demo and a go yourself before handing over cash. Having a go yourself is important as you get used to using a machine over time and learn to overcome it's foibles. Otherwise fost...

Re: Selling lengths of moulding

Each to their own, I'm in the business of selling stuff to people. I can't help it, someone comes in, I want to sell stuff to them. The day I've got enough to not bother that's when I'm retiring.

What everyone else has said. They can by a 10mm screw if they want. If they don't buy it from me, they'll get it from one my competitors.

Re: Advice on framing large poster

I'd say 120" is very difficult, 120" being 12 longer than most moulding lengths.

Re: Advice on framing large poster

These are big frames, you need to ensure that you have the space to handle them, personaly I wouldn't handle glass that big. My achiles tendon and glass have a history I wouldn't want to repeat. You will also need help to handle the frames while you make them up. You may also need to come up with a ...

A slip moulding. Usually taped to the inside edge of a reverse cut bevel. Can look very effective.

I rang, bankrupt stock in the tens of thousands apparently. 50p to £1.50 depending on size. No detail on subject matter or quality, you turn up and buy what you want. No minimum quanity. Not prepared to email any images. For me it's too far to go and have a look, if it's a load of old crap. If you l...

Re: Which method to finish hand sawn mitres?

Neither has a length measuring device, so you will be relying on eyesight judgement to ensure all your lengths are the same dimension. I personally would go for the guillotine, I would rough saw the lengths and then cut to length using the guillotine and a rule. The sanding method can be used for sm...
