Re: wall collage

Not sure if this helps but Snapfish do photo collages.

One of my photographer customers uses their templates to show customers and then gets them professionally printed by a decent lab. Apparently you can keep shuffling the images around until you get the one you like most which you can then save.

Re: Is Xmas TV carp or what?

TV carp?

You need Total Fishing with Matt Hayes, Quest TV, Channel 38 on Freeview, 12.00 - 13.00 most days.

My fishing fix while I can't get out on the river bank in this carp weather.

Re: framing supplies

If you are a bona fide business operating from commercial premises the the usual trade wholesale suppliers should be able to help.

If not the perhaps a chat with your local picture framing business might help.

Re: Stitching

Although I mostly stitch using cotton thread a micro tag gun can be useful for some items. One advantage is it can be operated single handed whereas with needle and thread you often feel a third hand would be useful. Available from Lion and elsewhere http://www.lionpic.co.uk/product/MicroStitch-T-ta...

Re: Medals

Do you secure the ribbon at the top under the mount with a stitch or two or do the two slots you cut hold them in place? Or are there further slots at the top out of sight?

Re: Sitting on a fortune?

Friend of mine was a salesman at a big car dealership. Whenever they took in a part exchange he took the rear seat squabs up (pre folding seats and hatchbacks) and never had to find change for the coffee machine. Someone I worked with once arrived at work and looked out of the window and saw a £20 n...

Re: Plastic Sleeves for Mounts

The ones Lion sell are good quality but a bit more expensive than others. I have an artist customer who travels round to a lot of shows with mounted prints and he won't use anything else as he says they don't split down the seams like the cheaper ones. Have also used this ebay seller for smaller siz...

Re: What's a good printer?

I use a Samsung laser printer for work tickets and invoices in the shop. Cost under £50 but genuine toner cartridges are about the same price although they do last a long while. Back office printer is an HP all in one which uses a black cartridge and a single colour cartridge. This one does produce ...

Re: Frames Bowing

Both frames portrait. I always double up the cord and tape them together to make sure the frame is hung on the hook(s) with the weight being taken by both cords but I did notice they had been pulled apart which suggests only one cord was on the hook. I am tending to move away from cord to wire and a...

Re: Frames Bowing

It was strange that the frames immediately went flat once the tape was cut between moulding and backboard. Everything was given the usual 2mm expansion gap. I am going to hang them on the wall as they are now and see what happens. I do take the point about moulding size and certainly would not have ...

Re: 96% discount on flourescent lighting tubes!

Apologies for the spelling thing.

Just when I was a student radiographer I had to write Fluoroscopy, Fluoroscopic, Fluorescence etc. in essays and assessments and I always spelt it the wrong way now it jumps off the page at me.

Re: 96% discount on flourescent lighting tubes!

I think I pay about a fiver each for 5ft tubes and the cheapo warehouse over the road has starters at two for a pound. I have found the biggest problem is getting rid of the dead ones until I spotted and ad. in a free sheet telling me the local recycling center accepted them. Bloke was a bit surpris...

Re: Is my daler chart current?

Remember with a colour chart you are only getting a piece of the facing paper stuck to the card which the chart is printed on. I don't stock standard (cream) core but have noticed when customers have brought in pieces they have bought in art shops that the colouring is slightly different to the whit...
