Re: Going 'chop'

Be interested to know which mouldings they can't cut Square Framie. If they cant cut square what chance do we have using a Morso. Over 5 years of buying certain items of chop I have had one wrong length, replaced over night for delivery next day and one damaged again re delivered following day. You ...

Re: Going 'chop'

I use chop (Lion) for hard wood and (not Morso friendly mouldings) and argument my stock range. It depends how busy you are and your relationship with your supplier. Buying one item of chop and paying the delivery charge makes it uncompetitive. If you order several at once the delivery is free or ne...

Has the Christmas madness started for any one else yet. 5 customers coming to see me tomorrow 3 have mentioned they have art to frame for Christmas. It started about the middle of November last year but seems to be ramping up early this year.

Re: stretching canvas on board

Thanks Prospero, I agree a small moulding would be the obvious solution to neaten up the edge and help keep the board flat. I think I will ask customer to come back and discuss the options. Thanks again

stretching canvas on board

Hi, I have a rather thin canvas from China to stretch. There is very little plain canvas around the image and customer doesn't want to loose any of the image so stretcher bars are out. Furthermore the stretched image will not be framed. I have suggested stretching it over a board and building a sub ...

Re: How to treat a chinese paper cut

Thanks you much Tangent, very well explained, look forward to seeing the other dragons framed and mounted. One other thing where did you find the Dragon paper cut? I have seen a few on ebay but none as nice as your Dragon.

Re: How to treat a chinese paper cut

The dragon looks great, am I right in thinking you sandwiched the paper cut between two pieces of glass, spaced away from the gold under mount then spaced the double mount and finally glazed with a third piece of glass? would love to see more photographs

damp damaged etching

Hi, I have been given a large etching to re frame which has been stored in a damp room. Subsequently the print is badly cockled and wavy. The customer is fully aware of the problems but has asked me to do my best. Does any one have any suggestions as to the best way to try to salvage the etching. Th...
